This is the BEST Choice for Donousa
High Points: the location, the view, the hot water, the efficiency of the studios with cooking potential,
Low Points: the whole island has limited wifi connections so just be sure to work when most people are at the beach in season when connection speeds increase; almost all rooms (large and small) cost the same in season
Unique Points: the double terrace of #9, the genuine care and concern and connection availability of Dina, the charming “village feel” of the layout, the pride in the name of the AlThea name when Dina talks about it; the views from the Althea Studios especially at full moon

Disappointment and anger!!
Unfortunately, total disappointment and anger of course. We stayed from 20 to 27 August and the booking was made by phone in March, as well as the advance payment of 140 Euro, i.e. the price of one night. The booking was made by phone and we had agreed on a two-bedroom room, since we were three ladies. The room he put us was 15 square, of course single room, had made the sofa a third bed (the bed as well as the sofa were built, not furniture, so they could use them as they liked). There was no wardrobe, but only 6 hangers in a built corner next to the bathroom, and therefore our suitcases had to be on the floor in the middle of the room. The bathroom was very small, where only one could hang her towels and in the kitchen there were only two tablespoons, two forks, a knife, a teaspoon, two dishes and a bowl. Also in the fridge there was not even a bottle of water, so for the welcome, as the tap water is not drinkable. When I complained about the space, he refused our oral agreement (unfortunately I trusted her, it did not come out of my mind with such a high price that he could give us such a room). The answer I got was that prices are determined by supply and demand and let me try to find somewhere else if I want (of course there was nothing free at this time). Unfortunately that!

Great location, very nice property. But 5 stars for kindness. The hospitality of the owner. Really a wonderful person. I left my heart to donoussa ❤️

Average stay and not a good value for money
The host is friendly and offers pick up and drop off from the port. The studios are a bit far from the port and the main shops. Furthermore, it’s quite dark to get back in the night. The room was spacious, but to my opinion it will benefit from some renovation as it’s a bit outdated. The mattress and the pillows were not that comfy. Some issues with WiFi too.
Finally, I was disappointed that there was no courtesy bottle of water upon my arrival and no complimentary beauty products in the bathroom.

You don’t get what you are offered in your booking
The places overall has a nice view (that’s the only reason of 2 stars). however expensive to be just a room with a small kitchen with few equipment and where they change you towels every 3 days. They don’t clean rooms and it’s the farest away hotel from town in the city. Not even a courtesy water bottle in the fridge upon our arrival. What drag us out is the fact that the owner called me after 2 days saying that we have to change room as planned. Nothing like that was scheduled in my reservation I was offered for one room for the whole 4 nights stay. They moved us the last night into a bigger apartment yes, but on the street, with no sea view (as I booked) air cons was not working. No discounts was offered for this. This made at last second our stay and vacation in Donoussa quite uncomfortable. They thought about their business and plan without caring about our wellness. You take this words in consideration for the stay!
