Lovely hotel

Just returned after another 2 weeks in this beautiful hotel. All the staff are really lovely but the star is Natasha who works so hard and is so lovely. Pool and taverna get very busy mainly due to non residents so sometimes the beds get full. Overall a relaxing holiday. See you next year xxx

Geen acht waard!

Given all the reviews, we had reasonable expectations of this hotel. In hindsight, we had to adjust our expectations and concluded that this is a reasonable to good hotel. The standard rooms are absolutely not worth 4 stars. Very small bathroom (the sink in particular is very small and there is far too little space to put things). Furniture is outdated. Mattresses as hard as concrete. I have never had such a hard bed. The next day we asked for a mattress topper and that was much better. No idea why toppers aren't included as standard.
Very small balconies, with the outdoor air conditioning unit hanging in a corner where you can't sit with your chair underneath. The air conditioning drips constantly.
All in all, a barely 7 for the standard room. Cleaning was okay to good.
The reception (although very friendly) provides virtually no information upon arrival. We had to find out from other guests where dinner was served and that every guest is ‘entitled’ to 1 free towel for the pool. A fresh towel costs €2.50 every time after that. Breakfast varied enough for this time of year (end of June) but could be more extensive.
I’ve seen plenty of hotels with more variety. All in all, an 8 for breakfast.
The tavern/small restaurant is beautifully situated. The food is traditional and fine, but don't expect culinary masterpieces. The price-quality ratio is okay. Absolutely DO NOT book half-board (as we did). There is no buffet, but you get to choose from a rather ‘stripped-down’ menu every evening (compared to the menu other guests can choose from). When we inquired, the hotel manager reacted quite piqued. We ended up eating out on 3 of the 5 evenings, which was a good choice!
The pool is pleasant but not clean! And that while the season is only just getting started. Algae in the corners, grates all around full of algae, floating ‘haze’ on the water, etc.
Very nice sunbeds with sufficient shade around the pool. There is still plenty of space now, but expect problems in the high season. On the deck near the toilets, the cushions were quite dirty, and the canvas of all four parasols was completely rotten and torn.
The private beach is small and accommodates 5 parasols, each with 2 sunbeds. There was plenty of space during the first part of the week, but by the second part, the hotel was already a bit busier, and all the beach beds were immediately occupied. During the second half of the week, there were also (English) tourists claiming beds around the pool and tables at breakfast. How different this was at the beginning of the week!
We wonder if the hotel is prepared for the high season. To be honest, we don't think so.
The location of the complex is very quiet, which we really appreciated. All the staff (except the manager) are very friendly and helpful.
All in all, we had a nice holiday, but we will not book this hotel again.

Lovely Hotel

Stayed here for three weeks from mid June and had a great stay.
The owners are on site and make sure everything is up to par.
We went breakfast only and it had everything there for anyone. For lunch and dinner the attached taverna is very good for meals especially as there is a lovely view over the Aegean sea.
Swimming pool was nice and clean and there was no issue getting the sunbeds which were very comfortable.
Rooms were adequate with a small balcony with beds made every day with fresh towels.
The hotel being isolated(which we liked) means a bit of a steep walk into Molyvos or a taxi for seven euros. It's worth it as Molyvos is such a unique and beautiful place. Also the train into petras was good fun.
The staff were very obliging and friendly with no grumps!.
I know this review is a bit gushing but overall this hotel was that good.

A great place with very friendly staff. Recommended.

This is the perfect place if you are looking for swimming and sun holiday.
The hotel is very clean both in the common area and in the rooms. It was charged and flushed morning and evening. Our room was clean and neat every day with lots of new towels, ready for a new day by the water.
There is a large swimming pool if you prefer to swim in the sea. If you want to swim in the Aegean Sea, the hotel has its own beach which is just 40 meters from the pool. Both on the beach and by the pool there are sunbeds that can be used. The beach is a rocky beach, so swimwear is recommended.
Near the hotel there are plenty of couch groups and chairs and tables if you want to enjoy the weather and views, but not sit in the direct sunsteak.
You can borrow large towels at the reception. The first one is free and if we put new and clean, then it costs €2.5.
The hotel has its own taverns that serve both cold and hot dishes. There should be something for every gate. The food is very good. The positions are sometimes huge, but we also experienced this in Molyvos and Petra. Maybe it's common on the island.
Nearby town is Molyvos. It is about 2km from the hotel. The road is quite steep so it may be advisable to spare this walk until it has become a little cooler late afternoon/early evening. The alternative is taxi which cost €10. Molyvos is a typical tourist destination with many souvenir shops and several dining spots. A nice break as you tend to eat all the meals of the day at the hotel.
The service at the hotel was incredibly friendly and welcoming. There was a calm and cozy atmosphere throughout the area.
I can't come up with anything we missed. We had a great stay at Aphrodite and I highly recommend this hotel.

Very pleasant hotel.

Very pleasant hotel, impeccable cleanliness, breakfast a bit basic with powdered orange juice and canned fruit, which is a shame... the staff is very dynamic but a bit cold... location near the old town of Molivos and easily accessible with the taxis that are quite numerous.

Very good location
