Wonderful!

After staying at several large, lively hotels on the north coast of Crete, we decided this year to settle down in the south, in Matala.
We chose the Fragiskos for its small size and the quiet, unpretentious atmosphere without entertainment.
First of all, the hotel itself is great: human-sized, very well laid out, and very charming.
The pool is great.
The bar is great.
The ground-floor garden rooms are great.
The restaurant with its view of Matala beach (50 m away) is great and the food is extremely good (better than in a 5-star hotel).
And what can I say about the staff?
Whether at the bar, at the restaurant, the cleaning staff, the manager Eleni, and the Fram representative Mr. Jalel... everyone is adorable!!!
And it is so clean!!
As for the town of Matala: if you like nice little villages, good vibes, no hassle, with lots of original little bars and taverns, where people are nice, welcoming, business-friendly, and a breathtaking beach... go for it!
A piece of advice: SPF 50 in your suitcase because it's intense!

Top-notch hotel

Excellent stay in this hotel, ideally located a few meters from the beach. The staff is very friendly and available. The rooms are comfortable, modern, and well-equipped. The bedding is top-notch. The establishment is clean and well-maintained. The hotel has two swimming pools. The food is good. On-site, the Plein Vent representative offers some truly excellent excursions, as well as car rentals. Renting a car allows you to explore the island; you can quickly tour Matala. The only downsides, and you have to look for them, are that the dishes offered are a bit repetitive, the pools could use some modernization or expansion, the excursions are a bit expensive, and the air conditioning costs extra. To conclude, a special shout-out to Jalil, the Plein Vent representative; on the morning of our departure, we didn't get the promised slice of cake, and the monk's cream doesn't work lol

Very clean hotel and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble.

Friendly and clean hotel.
We were initially booked in at another hotel, but when we got there we were extremely disappointed. So we went looking for another hotel and came upon Fragiskos Hotel. The staff were friendly and understanding. They showed us to a room, which was very big and had a nice balcony. We took the room for the week. We had a lovely time there. The breakfast was amazing, so much choice. All the staff made it their job to accommodate your needs. And a stones through from the beach. Great location. Harris the manager was very personable and jovial. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great experience

Hotel exactly in front of the beach and close to the center, two swimming pools and breakfast room overlooking the sea. The welcome really kind, the spacious rooms with furniture a bit 'dated but are still fine.

A very good reason to visit Matala

The Frangiskos hotel in Matala, Heraklion is the best or one of the best in the area. It has spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms with an amazingly rich breakfast. Moreover, it is in the best location near the center of Matala and its beautiful beach. And all this at the most reasonable price...
