Lovely hotel, great location but sadly let down by cleaning standards

We booked via Tui and upgraded to what they refer to as a one bedroom family room, which was detailed as twin room with extra beds in the lounge. It turned out to be two rooms, one twin and one double, with a sort of kitchen area in the middle. The area in the middle looked like it used to house a kitchen area but this had been blocked in apart for the area for the mini fridge. There was a coffee machine and kettle, plus cups and glasses for four people, no counter top, just a pained top that was not practical. A kitchen table with 3 chairs and a dressing table! Each of the bedrooms only had a wardrobe and bedside table.
We had a small balcony overlooking reception, it has two chairs and a small table, not sure how this would work for a family of 4. This was not swept or mopped during our stay.
The hotel is in the perfect location close to the beach. It’s a very small property with only 30+ rooms. There is a snack bar/restaurant near the beach with a lovely outlook. We had breakfast every morning included in the price, and had a few lunches there too. Breakfast is just continental, but enough choice. The couple working in the snack bar were very friendly and helpful, they deserve 5*
We hired a car and went out and about most of the time, but did use the beach and pool area from time to time. The pool is just small and was cold, but that’s just the time of the year. Sun-beds are comfortable and readily available, so no sun beds wars here.
All in all we had a lovely holiday and really liked the hotel, location was perfect, grounds, pool area and restaurant well kept and clean.
Sadly the big negative for me was the cleaning of the rooms, or should I say lack of cleaning. We stayed for 11 nights plus paid for late departure on our last day and only had 2 towels/linen changes during this time. The cleaners came in daily to empty the bins, but that was all. On the two occasions the towels linen was changed nothing else was cleaned. Floors not swept or mopped, sides never wiped down and bathroom not cleaned. Because there was no sink in the kitchen area we had to wash cups and glasses in the bathroom sink, not very hygienic. We purchased washing up liquid and sponge for washing up, plus antibacterial wipes to clean the sink etc.
The bathroom wasn’t very practical, floor flooded when taking a shower. Small shower tray with dirty shower curtain. The tiles round the shower really could have done with a good clean. I know it’s almost the end of the season but really did feel cleaning standards had slipped which let the hotel down which is sad.
We would stay again, but next time I will be more vocal if I have concerns over cleaning.

Stayed one night

I honestly can’t believe the glowing reviews about this hotel – were we even staying in the same place? The “room” was about the size of our garden shed. No space to move around, let alone relax. Everything looked like it was stuck in the 1980s and hadn’t been cleaned properly in months.
The pool? Completely dead. The white sunbeds were more like a dirty cream colour from all the ground-in grime. And that BBQ you see in the photos? In reality, it was full of cigarette butts – absolutely disgusting.
The food was the worst we’ve ever had on a Greek island: cheap, tasteless, and so basic it was almost laughable. Honestly, the only redeeming feature was the beach, and that’s not down to the hotel.
We bailed after one night and moved to Lindos Nest Hotel – now THAT place is amazing and makes this one look like a bad joke.

Beach heaven!!

This hotel is such a find! Fantastic location right on the beach, with plenty of sun beds that aren’t on top of each other as other beaches are.
The rooms are a good size and ours had a coffee maker and fridge, good size wardrobe but the beds were so comfortable- had the best weeks sleep!!!
The breakfast is served in the bar area at the beach and the bar itself has a great selection of drinks.
The staff are absolutely amazing. So friendly and welcoming, they really make your stay.
The Greek night is a must, food was tasty and the entertainment really, really good - they make you feel part of the Greek family!!
Thank you so much for a great stay!

Nice hotel, shame about rude women working in the restaurant

When we arrived late at night there was no one on reception as it stops being operated at 4pm daily (even in the day there is no one there). Our room details on a sheet of paper left behind the window stating our keys are in our room door?? This is not a secure nor safe method of checking in and existing guests had to help us and other new arriving parties with our check in…
The walk to the hotel front desk from the main road is very dark at night and as two young women travelling alone we felt unsafe walking down what appears to be a derelict road. Also, groups of men often stand on this dark street corner and is not a pleasant environment. Be mindful of this if you are travelling in small groups, especially women.
Also, we found the MALE staff to be very friendly and informative when approached, unfortunately we experienced rudeness from the female staff members in the restaurant and reception. It always seemed like an inconvenience to serve us, however we noticed a difference in attitude when they were attending to families and older couples. We also witnessed this rudeness towards other young British guests… I would not recommend to young people. On numerous occasions it was obvious the female staff members were talking about us in Greek and sniggering WHILST we were at the bar. This made us feel uncomfortable and was uncalled for as we remained friendly. Also the breakfast is very limited and is the same every day.
Despite this, the beach was nice (be aware it is very stony) and the pool area is quiet and small, however clean and maintained. A strip of shops with a few restaurants within a 2 minute walking distance.

Good value for money Hotel with functional and clean rooms.

This is a value for money Hotel with clean rooms and is well run. Everything looked like it had been recently painted. The rooms are functional with small balconies that either over look a block of rooms or the rear of the rooms. We requested an upper floor room but had one on the ground floor. The rooms were cleaned daily by friendly and efficient staff. The bar is well run with excellent staff. The breakfast is a bonus compared with other places but it is basic although we found the Greek Yogurt very good. There is a small, clean pool behind the bar. The hotel is on the beach which is more functional than beautiful.
