Perfect
We chose this hotel because the town is close to the beaches we wanted to visit, and Evropi was the perfect choice. The structure is well looked after, clean and offers many services, swimming pool bar, restaurant, billiards and other games. It is also very quiet, we did not hear any loud noises during the nights spent here. Clean apartment, excellent sleep quality also due to the blackout curtains, good quality mattress and pillows. Large shower, there was never a shortage of hot water, a comfortable terrace also equipped with a drying rack. A special thank you to the gentleman at the reception who welcomed us very warmly every day and greeted us with a nice good morning, followed by his kalimero!

Terribly poor service, book a reversed hotel.
Hotel owner steals people's belongings...so be careful when booking here. This can be an expensive holiday. Have a good holiday in another hotel.

PLANNED THEFT!

WARNING AROUND EVROPI HOTEL ⚡️
My family and I are home this morning after 12 days at Kreta, Evropi Hotel - Platanias.
I would definitely not recommend the hotel to any people. The cleaning was basically nothing, but in addition only bad experiences.
Arrival
We arrive at the hotel early in the afternoon. Here we are greeted by the owner and his coffee cup. He walks right past me, sits at his desk and throws the key on the disc. Stands up, takes his cup and says “come” and goes. Without offering help to us, despite our 4 suitcases, 2 children and hand luggage and wagon. He opens the door to the room saying “in” and knocks the door and goes.
Planned theft and departure
Last day. Sunday 13/7 2025.
I'm sick in the room with migraine. My husband and our two children of 2 and 9 years go down to swim in another hotel.
It's about 12 o'clock, here I decide to take a bath and see if I can get out the door. I lay my apple watch on the kitchen table and forget to wear it again before I go.
Since the time at this time is barely 13, I don't think there will be cleaning and therefore I don't go back and pick it up.
When we arrive at home at around 6:00, my apple watch is gone. I ask my husband if he's already packed it, he doesn't. I KNOW it was on the table. We finish all the suitcases, and then turn to the owner who immediately begins to shout and create. He comes with explanations like I should have thrown it out over the balcony etc.
Since all suitcases have been turned 3 times without success we lift all beds and mattresses - nothing to find. The fate wants us at the last mattress - a bench with space underneath which we lift despite not having used the mattress - there right behind lies my watch, turned off (despite electricity) and turned off (this I could see on my phone). My husband picked up the owner, he came threateningly through the door pointing our 9 year old son into the head with a raised voice and says “IT WAS YOU!” To which our 9-year-old says “no I was out swimming” the owner points to our 2-year-old and says “then it was him” i.e. a 2-year-old who can not under any circumstances lift a box mattress. He turns ridiculously and laughing at my husband and says “so you think my cleaning lady has taken it, put it there and then she could say tomorrow that you had forgotten it and keep it” my husband says “yes” he fails to take himself to the head say something in Greek and knock the door.
Finally departure at 01:00
Our taxi arrives, here my husband goes down with the suitcases and lets me and the kids wait in the apartment with the door open. I am standing right checking the room as my big boy breaks “uhhhh” and jumps up with a shock. The owner is undisturbed into the apartment and walks around. (I thought it was my husband) he says “WHAT IS THE REMOTION FOR AIRCONDITION!” And I'm saying that I really don't know that right now and that we haven't gone. He says “I will check just before yesterday what is missing”...
I say “we miss the rest of the luggage” he takes my 9 year old’s phone up in the hand, lies it a little further on the table and says “you only need your puzzle bag” to which I say “yes and the phone you just tried to save for me”
He leaves without a word.
I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! WATCH OUT!
AS THE IMAGE SHOWS, THE WATCH IS NOT UNDER THE HOLE, BUT ABOUT 30CM AWAY, SO IT CANNOT BE SEEN! (Or thrown in as he accused our 2-year-old for).

Rude owner, cheap hotel
The hotel is modest, it is clean and cleaning personnel is friendly. Especially, Ivanka. However, the problem lies in the head of "fish", e.g. the owner, who is also a receptionist and takes care (I would not say he does) of residents issues.
Whatever issue you have he has face expression like you are bothering him and he rather tries to come up with "solution" when he does not have to do his job.
It is apartments hotel, location is about 800 m to the sea site, very small hotel like a hostel. The kitchen corner is important for apartments. It is not great but has enough. What it lacks is lids for pan and pots.
Also one day a week a cleaner does not come and it is ok. But if you do not know it and have a trash full of food left overs and broken wine bottles, it is a trouble. Because there is no extra trash plastic bag.
The fridge which is important for hot weather is a very small fridge that you find in hotels for mini bar. I particularly had a trouble with the door, on shelves of which I tried to place water or wine in glass bottle. Since it takes a bit of power to open fridge, the water bottles fall out and break.
Let's say in one day it broke three bottles. I cleaned but since you are not used to such quality, you open a fridge again and again something breaks...
Anyway... to make the story short. I explained the issue to the owner and he handed over to me a broom, told me to clean and pointed out where I should take the trash out (outside of the hotel).
What particularly spoiled the stay is the owner's temper. He was literally screaming at me 15 cm close to my face that loud that my ears hurt. The bar music was loud but everyone could still hear him.
He screamed at me: "you get on my nerves!!!..."... So great for the owner and service!!
It took me several days to get over the stress and embarrassment, out of 7 days that I stayed there. I could not move away as this hostel was not my choice but a part of tour I bought.
I do not suggest you stay here. The owners is a family and they have no idea that they are not the kings and everyone owes them because they came to Crete and stay in their hostel....
I do not think this kind of attitude can be fast fixed. So I do not expect anything is going to change unless the owner or manager of the hotel changes.

friendly atmosphere
very hospitable Cretan family owns this hotel near the center of entairtainment in Platanias and 3 minutes walk from the beautiful beach.
Big rooms with kitchen, tv, fridge, wifi everything needed in few words perfect vacations...
