Tranquility, peace, aesthetics, hospitality, accessibility and inclusiveness
The hotel is small scale (4 suites). The pool is perfect for (young) children. We were impressed by the entire hotel being accessible by wheelchair, including accessible kitchen, appliances, bathroom, doors, balcony, everything designed with accessibility in mind, including the pool area, the sun beds etc. Everything extremely comfortable.
BUT: what sets this place apart (besides view and accessibility), is the owners: Yannis and Maria. There was a heartwarming welcome, fruit and water in the fridge, including Yannis’ homemade raki. Everything was taken care to the tiniest detail, from the information folder about the area and restaurants that deliver food to the hotel, to the colourful pebbles decorating discretely the pool area.
This hotel, really sets the bar, not only in terms of hospitality, but also and specifically in the arena of accessible tourism and enabling inclusion. Not only for Greece, but also for European/American standards, it sets the highest standards. Congratulations to the owners.
Definitely a recommendation; ideal for everyone, couples, groups, family gettogethers (book the entire place!!!).

Excellent facilities for disabled visitors and with personal attention from the owners
Giannis made himself available to assist with this, and he also gave us a guided evening tour of Chania, including scenic back streets we wouldn't otherwise have found. Maria is a keen baker and brought us samples to sustain us.
Each apartment has a view over olive groves and a lake within the valley, then over green hills to the peaks of the White Mountains, 23km away. We enjoyed car drives into the mountains, to the local beach and into Chania itself.
The apartments have fridge/freezer and cooking facilities so, on alternate nights, we ate in our apartment or in local restaurants/tavernas. Giannis made excellent suggestions of local eateries: places where the locals eat, not tourist traps, and with excewllent foods for very reasonable prices.
We stayed for 14 nights in September and enjoyed it so much we have already booked to return for another 14 nights next year.

Fantastic
It was lovely to arrive to a store cupboard and fridge stocked with the essentials to get us started. Also the delicious culinary treats provided by Maria every few days were delicious and much appreciated.
Giannis with his friendly smile, was always on hand if needed, and assisted us with restaurant suggestions, ideas for days out, and information regarding the seatrac availability etc. He kept the pool at Aksos immaculate and the hoist access into the pool was fantastic.
The seatrac access to the sea is a wonderful invention. There were technical problems at our local beach, but these were quickly addressed and it was soon up and running again.
The setting of Aksos suites is beautiful; on the hillside, with ever changing colours over the lake and mountains, so peaceful and relaxing.
We travelled as a family of 4, two with disabilities, staying in 2 suites. We had a wonderful 2 weeks and would love to return in the future.
Thank you Giannis and Maria for making us all so welcome.
