What a great hotel!
What an incredible place to stay in Athens. Can highly recommend this hotel.
We arrived very late after a delayed flight but smooth and swift check in. We stayed in a junior suite on the 9th floor with view across Athens from 3 sides and our own terrace. The pool was a brilliant addition even it was rather chilly :) The roof top restaurant and bar was gorgeous - again amazing views across Athens. The staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much bother. We ate at the restaurant on our first night and the food was fantastic. As we were in a suite we go access to the Executive Lounge which offered drinks throughout the day with wine and beer on offer from 6pm. There was a reading room and a pool table in there and lots of comfortable seating. Great place to relax.

Beautiful view with a FREEZING pool!
The stanely was great but here are a few positives and negatives:
Positives:
- The pool area was the best part of the hotel as it was peaceful and a cosy space to relax and calm down, the sun lounger beds were nice and comfy to sit on with comfortable pillows to rest your head on.
- The breakfast buffet had delicious food hot and cold there were little Greek pancakes and syrup there was a epic selection of spreads, the juices were very nice and there were two coffee and tea machines.
- A very good location because it was very close to the train station and a short walk to placa village a great place to eat with lots of delicious restaurants and great shops.
Negatives:
- On the stanley website it said that the pool was heated but when we got there the pool was freezing cold and really hard to get in to, we found that the mini fountains in the swimming pool were letting in luke warm water but they would come on at different times.
- If you booked breakfast included then if you woke up late then the food at the breakfast buffet would be cold and not fresh so you would have to have a cold breakfast.
- The location of the stanley is good for getting around but the view from your room is not good but the view on the roof top pool is magnificent for you can see all the mountains which is a amazing to see.

Hotel with renovated rooms
The hotel is in a very dynamic area during the day, although at night it is transformed into an area that inspires more careful walking.
The room was renovated and looked well clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable.Points of note, the good lighting tabto day, as well as night; as well as the kettle.
The bathroom was very comfortable and with good shower.
Loved the terrace overlooking the Acropolis and a nice pool.
Very good and complete breakfast.

Poor dining experience at The Stanley - can no longer recommend.
This was our third stay at The Stanley, we've always chosen this hotel specifically for the rooftop pool and the very helpful restaurant staff when it came to our child's severe nut allergy. The room rates are very high but we've always felt the cost was worth it knowing we'd have a great dining experience with historically accommodating service. On our previous visits, the restaurant (Cloud 9) was always happy to answer ingredient questions and make simple modifications to dishes (ex. removing a sauce) so our child could safely enjoy a meal.
Unfortunately, this visit was a completely different experience. On our first night, we were excited to have a family dinner at Cloud 9 on the roof. However, after ordering our drinks and a starter salad, we were soon told there was virtually nothing the kitchen could prepare for our child due to her nut allergy, despite us explaining that we fully understood they couldn't guarantee against cross-contamination. We weren't asking for that, we simply wanted to know whether certain dishes contained nuts or if a sauce or side dish could be omitted. After several trips back and forth to the kitchen, our server returned each time saying there were no safe options, not even on the chicken nuggets from the kids menu, forcing us to leave the hotel at 10:30 p.m. to search for another restaurant that was still open.
The following day at the rooftop pool, we ordered sushi and simply asked for it without the yuzu sauce. Again, the kitchen said they could not make the modification, leaving us without any food options. Because The Stanley also prohibits outside food, we had no alternative but to again leave the hotel and try to find a nearby restaurant.
When I shared our experience with the front desk the next morning, I was asked why I hadn't asked to speak to the restaurant manager; that there was nothing the front desk manager could do for us. I clearly stated we specifically stay at The Stanley because of how accommodating their restaurants historically were for our family, and that we would likely not be able to come back knowing the restaurant was completely inflexible and would not serve us this time. The front desk manager told us again there nothing she could do aside from comping a €5 coffee we'd charged to our room, and that she hopex we would reconsider and stay at The Stanley in the future.
We want to continue loving The Stanley, as it has been our family's consistent hotel of choice in Athens - we also recommend it regularly to friends. Unless the restaurant becomes more willing to provide basic ingredient information or flexibility for very simple requests for guests with food allergies, we'll find a different hotel for future visits and I won't recommend The Stanley again.

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Athens. The executive room was worth the upgrade to get lounge access. The rooftop views are as amazing as the pictures look but it does get very very busy!
