Great property, great location - a hidden gem

Wasn’t sure if to book - but very happily surprised. Stayed just one night. Went for a slightly larger room with balcony. Huge room, all very fitted out very well and balcony on 2nd floor (at rear) overlooking the gardens (super quiet).
Check in was via email / pin codes for room - received a few hours beforehand - all worked without problem (not sure though how it would work if you needed to store luggage).
The building has been beautiful restored and with original parquetry floors - so lived the atmosphere. Fantastic location with a couple of cafes right across the street (Philos was fabulous for lunch & breakfast). Would definitely return.

Access to the hotel is through a code, and through another code you’ll get your access card to your room. Since there’s no staff we couldn’t ask for late check out or leave our luggage. Other than that the property is really great! Well maintained, clean and extremely well located.

Nice property.
The problem comes in when trying to check in. Our group was told that we would get at the very least the code to get into the property before we arrived. We had to stand outside for at 20 minutes before we texted them for the code. They also said that at least one room would be ready before we arrived. It was probably an hour before we received the room codes. The bathroom we had a bit of a mildew smell ( not a huge deal ). Great location and 2 coffee shops across the street. Also if you have a room that faces the street it can get quite loud ( but you are in a big city).

Good place to stay: Specious, clean, safe.

Located about a 7 minute walk from Panepistimio metro station and a 25 minute walk to the Acropolis, the Solonos suite apartments were an excellent place to stay. Within a minute walk was a small Carrefour Express and opposite were two simple coffee shops which served coffee and pastries at breakfast time. A short walk along Solonos Street was several coffee shops with seating areas inside and out. I received my entry code at about 2pm for entry to the suites anytime after 3pm. Once inside another code enable me to get the electronic key to my apartment. The whole facility (a basement and three stories high) was spotlessly clean and the apartments were large and spacious. Apartment 01 in the basement had a good sized bathroom with a shower, a small area for food (microwave, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, crockery, cutlery, glasses and cups.). No breakfast was included. There was a large double bed , an easy chair, bedside tables, but no desk for working. Apartment 22 was larger with all of the above but also a table for working or eating food. My flat had a bottle of wine, some biscots, some bread rolls and tea bags. Milk and instant coffee would have made it even better. The flat had a hair drier, tolerable wi-fi - but it wasn't very fast,, a flat screen TV and plenty of power point sockets. There was a safe, hanging space for clothes and limited drawer space. The cleaning team were happy for me to leave my case tucked away in the lobby area until early evening when I collected it for my flight from the airport. Give yourself at least 75 minutes to reach the airport from walking out of the apartment. I paid £124 for two nights. I would stay again for a safe, clean, spacious and very modern and well equipped place to stay in Athens.
