Pleasant hotel - nice room, attentive staff, and very good breakfast
I booked a room at Hotel Hoppe for a graduation celebration. The initial telephone contact with the hotel owner was already very attentive and friendly. My request to get a quiet, renovated room was followed up on - I received a nice double room for single use.
The room was spacious and modernly furnished. Bed was comfortable in terms of the mattress and bedding. The obviously newly designed bathroom was tasteful and sufficient in size.
Opening the front door and the room door worked without any problems. I also liked the free parking right at the hotel.
The breakfast was very good in terms of the selection and quality of the food. The staff was very accommodating, attentive, and friendly. I felt comfortable at Hotel Hoppe and recommend it.

Modern, clean room
We had a family celebration in Witten and needed a nearby place to stay. The Hotel Hoppe was top for it. Modern clean room, quiet, decent breakfast with nice service. The automatic check-in with code worked perfectly. Right next door is a suburban train stop and there are 2 supermarkets within walking distance. Otherwise, the surroundings are rather meagre. It could be a bit difficult to find a free parking space on weekdays, but loading and unloading at the hotel is quite possible.

Erroneous booking without compensation
I searched Booking.com for a hotel for the period from 9 to 11 July. However, after I booked, it turned out that the wrong dates were booked, namely from 11 to 13 July. I was surprised how this happened. Afterwards, it turned out that the original dates were just fully booked and that the Booking.com site automatically suggested new dates. I didn't realize this in my hurry, so I accidentally booked the wrong dates. Immediately afterwards I contacted both the Hoppe hotel and Booking.com. However, both sides referred me to each other. Unfortunately, my ongoing cancellation/travel insurance does not cover these situations. The final result is that I lost €434.95. The cancellation fee appears to be the same as the booking fee. Really outrageous.

A great Witten restaurant.
I have eaten here several times while in Witten on business. The food is always excellent. The service is friendly and courteous. They have English menus and regular servers who speak enough English to get you by if you don't speak German. They are also open on Mondays, which is rare in Witten.

Very good restaurant
We went to the restaurant with a group of 20. The food was very good. The server efficient. We did not stay in the hotel so I cannot evaluate the rooms, but judging from the restaurant you probably get a decent quality.
