Winterberg Motorcycle Holiday

Stayed here for 7 nights on a biking holiday with three friends. Excellent central location to the town. Parking to the side of the hotel with a key card entry to the side door which gives you immediate access to the lift for carrying luggage to your room etc. Rooms are large, airy and spotless which are serviced everyday. On site swimming pool, sauna and steam room are spot on. Breakfast is good but caters more for continental options. Us Brits were faced with bacon and scrambled egg every day but a first world problem. We dinned there on one evening and the food was faultless. The on site bar is like being in a dungeon but table service is offered with the outside seating area. Would I stay there again, absoloutely. A big shout out to Jasper as well. Extremely helpful.

Hospitality is a profession.

This hotel advertises extensively with all kinds of HOMEMADE food, sometimes from OWN yacht.
But if you ask for mayonnaise with your fries as a Dutchman in Winterberg, you get one of those gruesome plastic bags. À RAISON FROM €0.70.
That our room was very noisy didn't really help to get in a better mood.
The fact that a very young (non-German) girl walked into the service at dinner until late and early in the morning at breakfast made me think so.

We had an excellent diner with wild dishes at the restaurant in Hotel Hessenhof

We visited only the restaurant in the Hotel Hessenhof because there was on the menu: wild dishes from the local Hunter.
We have ordered several dishes with wild boar and deer
This was prepared BBQ style and truly delicious !
We can highly recommend this restaurant
The service was also great!!

Terrible

Extremely unfriendly staff, poor service.
They do not think along with the customer, especially do not submit special requests because then you will get a hard no in return. After a trip you want to relax and not feel like you are not welcome.

Poorest customer service I have ever experienced

Hotel offers zero flexibility to their customers and only looks for profit.
On Friday 11-02 I was in a car accident and spent a week in the hospital with a broken chest bone. I am currently recovering from the accident and this doesn't allow us to travel to the hotel. We have asked the hotel & booking.com if we could move our booking. We provided a docter statement so booking.com agreed to change date but the hotel refuses. They prefer to sell the room twice instead of moving the booking. Will never book again at this hotel. It's a shame that booking.com cares about the customer but this small family hotel only thinks about their own profit.
