Nice little palce to stay

The hotel was great and very well priced, but it is in the middle of no where .. great.
The reception staff were friendly, limited in English, but my German is rubbish so how am I to talk. Was giver a room that was occupied by someone else, but the second room was much better see attached pictures. Had a lovely meal in the evening in the restaurant down stairs, local dishes (mixed meats/cheese to start and veal main) and beer. As it was Christmas time, carols from the local choir were sung in the back room, only missing snow. Breakfast was good, local produce and no lunch needed later.

A Hotel Gem Found in Northern Bavaria

On a crystal shopping weekend in the area with friends and ran across this amazing hotel!
Hotel Likes:
- Easy to book on-line reservation
- Hotel is dog friendly
- Easy to get to; 5 minutes off of the 93 autobahn
- Friendly, family staff; Limited English, but did not have a problem
- Clean, beautiful room; unique décor
- Wonderful breakfast included in room price
- Very reasonable room rate
- Free WiFi
I hope to return to this hotel!
Areas of Opportunity:
- Parking – arrive early for your stay as parking spots get taken quickly if the hotel is busy. There is limited parking available on the streets close to the hotel.
- Sleep in! – I tried to check out around 7.15 in the morning and was told I had to wait until after the start of breakfast (after 7.30 am). I felt a little trapped as I wanted to get on the road. I stayed for the start of breakfast and was happy I did as there was a great selection of delicious breakfast options. Local townspeople were even lined up outside the door waiting to get in for breakfast. I was able to easily check out after I was finished with breakfast.
- Ask for the WiFi password, if needed, upon check in. The front desk is not staffed late in the evening and I didn't have/get the password before the front desk staff left for the evening making it impossible to get on-line.

small bavarian hotel with tasty fand cheap food

I have been in Paris week before and this place was just a great breakaway and big breath from crowded city. Rooms are clean, quiet and well furnished. WiFi is OK. Meals (breakfast included in room rate) are very tasty and cheap. Menu is typical bavarian. Staff is friendly.

Mind the dust at the moment, but good hotel

We had a fine time here at an excellent rate to sample some of the local Zoigl on our recent visit. A holiday weekend cost under $100 a day. The breakfast is good, though they have a difficult time keeping up with the guests in terms of the hot food, but we were never disappointed and always greeted with a fresh pot of coffee. It is a good location right next to a half dozen Zoigl stubes, some of which will likely be open on any weekend and on the famous Goldsteig hiking trail, which attracts many bikers and hikers from long distances.
They are undergoing what appear to be massive renovations right now. Some things are a little disheveled. Also, if you are there on a Tuesday, it is the "day of rest" common at B&Bs, so breakfast may be a bit sparse.

Simply excellent. Fantastic Value

We are UK based and speak very little German (none tbh, very embarrasing). We arrived and were met by a lovely woman who called talk as much English and we could talk German. It was a little awkward but we did get some rooms.
The rooms are excellent, clean, modern and a good size. Simply couldnt fault them.
Zoigl is the big draw in this area. The locals could not be friendlier. I agree with a previous reviewer, the Food, the Service and the general feel of the place was simply excellent.
Everything was great value. The rooms, the food & the beer.
Breakfast could not be faulted either.
If you only speak English, try to ask for Phillipe, he is the son of the owener I think and can speak English and went over and above to help.
Stay. Enjoy Zoigl. Enjoy the place. Beware the church bells at 7am on a Sunday morning! :-)
