Neat rooms, nice Service

In this hotel I had to stay the first night to start my Rheinsteig hike: the boss explained to me via video where I would find my key: everything worked out great. The room was quite large for a single room and facing the street, but with the windows closed it fit. Since I was the only guest with breakfast, it was served right at the table: was perfectly okay.
The Service was very friendly and attentive.
Recommended as a starting point for the Rheinsteig hike!

Friendly service and basic rooms

The hotel is run by a friendly family. The rooms are very basic yet the bed and duvet were perfectly comfortable. Everything was perfectly clean which is what I always look for first. The TV was tiny and only had a few public channels. However, the internet connection was OK for speed but kept cutting out all the time which was very annoying. I mention it to staff at night but they could not do anything until daytime, so I had no chance to verify on their follow through. The bathroom and shower were as expected of good standard. However, shampoo was not provided on the 2nd night (cleaning staff oversight?). There is limited parking in behind hotel however as advertised there is plenty of free street parking at night and it looked perfectly safe.
The breakfast was of decent quality (breads, meats, cheeses, cereal).

Einstieg in den Rheinsteig

Das Scheppen-Eck bietet ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältniss.
Die Einrichtung ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen aber alles ist sauber und die Matratzen waren auch in Ordnung (nicht durchgelegen). Da das Zimmer im Hof lag, waren auch keine Geräusche von der Straße zu hören.
Die Inhaberin war sehr nett und hat uns auch Tipps bzgl. des Abendessens gegeben.
Das Frühstück war einfach (aber komplett), sehr preiswert und wurde zum Zimmer gebracht.

Kein Schicki-Micki-Hotel, dafür mit ganz viel Herzlichkeit und dem Versuch, trotz der schwierigen Umstände, eine gute Unterbringung zu gewährleisten. Ja, hier und da fehlt etwas Klarlack, aber Funktionalität war da. Matratzen gut und Sanitärbereich sauber und ohne Mängel. Wir hatten ein Appartement mit Dachterrasse, sehr schön und ruhig im Innenhof. Der erste Eindruck von der Straße ist etwas verschreckend. Sonst alles in der Nähe, Restaurants, Bushaltestellen, Schlosspark und Rhein. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Preiswürdig

Schlafen geht

Leider ein Hotel, was vor Jahren bereits renoviert werden sollen. Die Duschen lassen nur geringe Mengen an Wasser durch und mit Glück warm. Zimmer ist ansonsten sauber. Die Automatik-Türen in den einzelnen Flur Zugängen schlagen mit Wucht ins Schloss , so daß die Etage nachts wach ist. Die Lage der Zimmer ist im Hinterhof mit küchengeruch des angrenzenden italienischen Restaurants. Frühstück ist sehr einfach.
Die Inhaberin ist sehr nett und bemüht.
