Offering a terrace with panoramic sea views and a spa with indoor pool, this elegant, 5-star hotel stands directly beside the Westerland beach on the North Sea island of Sylt.

Hotel with refined elegance in the best beach location.
Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed and first given a tour of the house. During this, we were able to admire the Art Nouveau furnishings and the refined elegance in all the rooms. We were surprised that smoking was allowed in the bar. But it probably goes with the territory that one enjoys a good cigar and a whiskey to leisurely pass the afternoon there. The bartender certainly knows his business: We ordered a Mai Tai as a happy hour drink and sat outside on the terrace. The Mai Tai was almost as good as the one at the Mai Tai Bar of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki. The terrace with the beach chairs and the beautiful view of the beach and the promenade of Westerland is the ideal place for a stylish afternoon coffee.
We received room 292 on the 4th floor with a view of the city. The room at this height had the advantage that one did not hear the noise of the shopping street, but the disadvantage that we were already awakened at sunrise by the screeching of the seagulls nesting on the rooftops. The room was carpeted, decorated in Art Nouveau style, and had a well-stocked minibar, which even included a small bottle of our favorite Ruinart Rosé champagne. We had not experienced that in any hotel before. Upon arrival, there was a bowl of fruit and pastries on the small side table next to the upholstered chairs. We had not experienced that in any hotel before. A bottle of sparkling water was on the small secretary desk that was supposed to function as a writing desk. Unfortunately, there was no lighting above it, and the only available outlet was located down on the wall. Modern technological advancements such as USB outlets or a large-format TV were missing, as they would have likely spoiled the room's style. At least there was a digital clock on the nightstand. The password-protected Wi-Fi was very neat and had good bandwidth. In the speed test, I achieved a download speed of 145,115 kbit/s and an upload speed of 82,846 kbit/s. The beds were super comfortable, and all body care products were available in the large bathroom. The washbasin was made of porcelain due to the Art Nouveau style and matched the ambiance perfectly. The large modern shower was comfortable but was out of place because the floor was made of vinyl, which did not fit either in material or function. That was a pity.
We really liked the culinary offerings, which were fitting for a 5-star hotel in every respect: The service in the restaurant, which had red carpet flooring, was excellent and person-oriented, and the quality of the food was outstanding. The breakfast buffet was lavish and left nothing to be desired. In the Art Nouveau surroundings, one felt royally served.
We did not try the sauna area, but we will definitely try the bathrobes with the gold-embroidered Miramar logo on our next visit.

Wonderful stay at Miramar
A beautiful hotel the very courteous staff will read every wish from your eyes. You come as a guest and leave as a friend . All perfectly excellent and we are already looking forward to the next visit to Miramar.

Inflexible and non-culant
Formally correct – but in my view completely without customer orientation.
A cancellation period of 30 days applies. For business travel, this is completely unrealistic from my experience. I communicated at an early stage that my arrival was uncertain, yet the conditions were strictly adhered to – with no apparent willingness to consider a meaningful solution. In the end full calculation in case of no-show.
Especially in this price range, I expect more flexibility, proportion and true understanding of service – not just enforcing rules.

I liked the place. They take their business really serious. A bit old fashioned and that makes the charm of this hotel. When I arrived on a late Sunday afternoon, the manager on duty insisted to personally show me around and to explain all the features of the hotel to me. I stayed for three days and had a great time. The restaurant is a bit pricey but offers excellent food.
