A Wonderful hotel deserve appreciation

This three stars hotel is really marvelous, the staff are so cooperative, and polite, always smiling.
The room is well designed with a wonderful balcony ,also rooms are so clean and spacious.
The hotel location close to city center and also to the train station.
It's really wonderful Hotel you always feel like home , I highly recommend it for all types of visit and you will get all these advantages with a very competitive and reasonable price .

Unfortunately disappointing

2nd visit to this hotel. 1st time was very pleasant and satisfactory.
This time I was disappointed. Quality has noticeably deteriorated.
Room with 1 window, half hidden behind a corner, therefore very dark and unbearable without light, for the normal price - I find that outrageous.
Wi-Fi worked fine, TV reception noticeably disrupted (not bad for me, but noticeable compared to other hotels)
The bad thing was that the room door kept springing open. You had to slam the door so that the lock would hold and lock it from the inside. Apparently several people had this happen to them, so it was accordingly loud in the evening.
Staff knew about it, didn't point it out, so when I returned to the room I found the door open. Absolutely unacceptable! Was initially fixed the next day with a drop of oil, held about 5 times, then the problem came back.
Shower tray grouting is defective and looks very unappetizing. Reported.
I had cancelled the cleaning because this hotel uses a very unpleasant smelling cleaning agent and the rooms and corridors 'stink' afterwards. Unfortunately, I can't say otherwise. There is no better way to smell good.
Unfortunately, after I showed the nice gentleman who fixed the room door the broken grout, he said that it could be repaired with a lot of cleaning. It smelled accordingly. The staff were surprised that they were going to clean after all, because I had expressly cancelled the cleaning, but they thought it was unnecessary to ask me whether I really wanted it. It should also be said that the hotel is not big, there are only a few employees and you inevitably run into each other regularly. Very, very annoying and in retrospect, in my opinion, not really friendly on the part of the staff. If that's OK, you can overlook a lot.
To say something positive, there is really good coffee for breakfast. The breakfast offering was very OK. The scrambled eggs properly warm would have been nice.
A real shame.

Good hotel, everything you'd expect, then some.

We 5 chaps stayed here on our last night of pedalling up the Elbe from Prague. No restaurant or even a bar, but they had a well stocked drinks machine selling most types of beer/wine etc. for very reasonable prices/. We had the "apartment" which was on two floors, had a balcony and a telly. A real Home from home, though no tea or coffee in the room.
Ten minutes from the town square and centre, 5 minutes ride from the train station in the morning.
The breakfast was usual continental affair with a large choice of cereal, cheeses, salami, hams, bacon, scrambles/hard boiled eggs or porridge (Yum, ham and porridge). Lovely staff.
A clean, well kept hotel. No complaints. (That's a bit of a negative phrase to end, it was better than mere "no complaints" deserves).

Terrific Garni style stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the Uenglinger Tor. The staff is friendly and welcoming and their English is very good. The rooms are clean and well appointed, with plently of room to relax. the ear plugs on the nightstand were a nice touch, but not necessary. Breakfast is your basic Euro-German fair, with plently of heavy breads, meat and cheese. Pleasant and comfortable, and recommended for your stay in Stendall.
