Good address for a short stay

A good address if you want to make a short stay in Speyer or the surrounding area. Quiet location, at a good distance to the Altstdt and the cathedral. Easy reservation, fast communication and friendly reception. The rooms are spacious and largely clean (but the footrests by the beds should be disposed of, they have had their best time). Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Parking within walking distance.

Friendly welcome. The laundry service also worked. Large room with skylight. Could be clean. Breakfast only from 8:00 am. However, not ready until 8:15. Bicycles could be stored in a storage room in the courtyard. Breakfast a bit paltry.

Not good enough!

The hotel is decent enough. However, the service was just not up to standard. The reception remained unmanned well past 8 a.m. I requested breakfast at 8 am - however, there was no sign of anyone appearing at 8.20 am.
As a result, I had to leave to catch a train without breakfast and without formerly checking out. You have to do better than this. In the in-room service guide it states that the reception should be manned from 6 am and breakfast is served from 7 am. No explanation, no apologies - a pretty disgraceful attitude.

Charming small hotel, close to the center, well suited for short stays

We were looking for accommodation for one night near the center of Speyer. The hotel "Alt Speyer" is within walking distance of the Altpörtel and the Cathedral of Speyer.
The check-in is done quickly and the young man at the reception charming.
The rooms are quite compact but bright. The equipment of the rooms offers everything necessary. The cleanliness is very good. Sleeping is possible. The beds are fine and thanks to the location in a small side alley it is also quite quiet. It might get a little louder at an event in the adjacent vault.
The bathroom is modern and clean. Again, everything necessary is available.
Breakfast is not in buffet form. This is where the charming young man from reception comes in again. Breakfast is served to the square. Coffee, orange juice, sausage/cheese, different jams and yogurt are available for everyone. Eggs on request. Enough, tastes, fits.
A little hint: Park planning may be well thought out. There are parking garages nearby, but these are not usable for SUVs or buses due to quite low height.
The price/performance is quite good. 90 euros with breakfast is a very good course. We will gladly come back if it takes us to Speyer again.

Calm and quiet place

This hotel is located in the centre. It’s a cosy, family-run hotel, which was renovated some years ago. It has 12 rooms, with comfty beds. We spent only one night there, it was good. The staff was friendly, the only negative thing is the too strict check-in time: after 2 p.m.
