Nice discovery by the edge of the Mummelsee
Very beautiful discovery around this iconic lake in the Black Forest. The setting is magnificent and invites you to take a walk, with several hiking trails starting from the site. It is also possible to go pedal boating right at the foot of the restaurant.
The Berghotel has a very pleasant terrace offering a superb view of the lake. The service is friendly, fast, and the staff even speaks French, which is appreciated.
We opted for the family package at 60 €, including several meats (veal schnitzels, nuggets, sausages...), accompanied by spaetzle (a local specialty), vegetables, and fries. It is hearty and perfectly decent, even if the cooking remains quite simple. The desserts, around 8 €, are good, but the Apfelstrudel seemed to have been reheated in the microwave, which is a bit of a shame.
The site is also very convenient: you can find many shops offering local products, several areas with benches for picnicking or eating on the go, as well as numerous parking lots nearby.
A pleasant stop to enjoy the lake and the Black Forest, whether for a walk, a meal on the terrace or in the dining room, or even a family activity.

A dream stay
We had booked a room with a balcony and lake view, simply magnificent.
The little extra was a bottle of water and small chocolates on the bed.
The staff is very welcoming and friendly.
The breakfast buffet is gargantuan, there is everything, sweet, savory, and the bread is really great. I bought some at the hotel shop to take a little piece of Black Forest with me.

Anytime, we would love to return
We arrived on Pentecost Monday in the afternoon and were initially overwhelmed by the many visitors, motorcyclists, and tourists. My thought was, "We won't find any peace here!" But I was mistaken!!! Already upon entering the reception hall, I felt calmer, and the noise remained outside! We were greeted warmly, everything was explained very well, and we even had a free parking spot that did not need to be searched for.
The room with a balcony and lake view was simply beautiful! And when the door was closed, you hardly heard anything from the motorcycles. And even when sitting on the balcony, the noise was not really loud. Moreover, there were quite few "visitors" during the week compared to the holiday. In short, we were able to completely unwind!!
The best part was in the morning, the personal birdsong on the balcony . That was sooooo beautiful.
Additionally, one can hike very well from the hotel, or simply relax, or drive through the Black Forest. There were a few points of criticism... one of them was that the balcony does not have a screen door. We would have liked to leave the door open at night, but out of fear of spiders, we decided against it.
And the food is also very delicious. We dined "a la carte" and were never disappointed.
We can only recommend this hotel and we will definitely go back again!!

Perfect Getaway During Winter
We spent two nights at this hotel with our seven-year-old daughter. The reception staff were polite and very helpful. Just keep in mind that rooms are not ready before 15:00, so plan your arrival accordingly.
We were pleasantly surprised when we entered our room — it was larger and even nicer than in the photos, with a perfect view of the lake. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean.
The breakfast was exceptional for a three-star hotel in Germany. There was a wide variety of options, everything fresh and delicious. The same goes for the restaurant menu — during our two-and-a-half-day stay, we always dined at the hotel and never felt the need to go elsewhere.
The restaurant also has a small play area for kids with toys and a smart screen, which is a thoughtful touch for families.
The lake is stunning, especially when it snows, and the location is ideal for hiking.
I highly recommend this hotel. And a little spoiler: when you check out, they give you a complimentary voucher for one of their special breads — a lovely way to end the stay.

Top hotel
We were there for one night and it was very nice.
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff at the beginning.
Our room had a view of the lake - highly recommended.
We only took a quick look at the sauna - it looks absolutely top-notch.
Dinner was delicious and so was breakfast.
