A good, traditional hotel in the centre of Schmalkalden

Our second visit to this hotel and once again we enjoyed our stay. Comfortable bed, quiet at night and all spotlessly clean. Friendly staff and a good breakfast. Top marks for beautiful white tablecloths in the dining room :) We look forward to returning sometime.

Nice and central starting point

Central location, very spacious rooms (at least ours), good breakfast, friendly staff. What more could you want?
The decor is more of a classic style. You can end the evening in the Grünes Tor Zum Hopfengarten restaurant opposite (highly recommended).

Beautiful characteristic hotel in a historic village.

I stayed overnight in this lovely hotel on the night of August 12, 2023 with my spouse. The room was not very large but had a large window. The very spacious bathroom also had its own window. The furnishings were absolutely noteworthy: very nice and with very thoughtful lighting, both in the bedroom and in the bathroom. The location is extremely quiet and the hotel has a private courtyard for parking. The breakfast was extremely rich and tasty. You could choose from numerous hot dishes and top quality raw materials. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Experience to repeat!

Very nice old hotell with charm

Lovely hotel in an old building in the old parts of town. The small old town is a nice and good surprice. The hotel has a backyard for parking. The hotel, the rooms, the restaurant are all in grand style, old faschion. A small reception taken straight from an episode of "Derrick", with a friendly and helpfull lady who made you feel welcome. Our room and bathroom were large and the beds were the best ever. Lots of closet space. It was a fridge with different bottles in the hallway, help yourself, and pay when you leave.
We were here off season and had origially booked at the Grunes Tor hotel. Both hotels cooperate, and we were quite happy with the Patrizier .
The hotel also has a sun terrace, and the breakfast was good..
The town Schmalkalden is small but have a few good and charming restaurants, open even in low season. The road leading to the town is nice with lovely woods, .winding roads and nice views.

In the heart of the town

I stayed one night only on a business trip. Even though I booked last minute I got a large and nice room. Breakfast is rich and offers a lot food. Dinner is served in a very nice restaurant just the other side of the road.
