Great food

The hotel is a bit old, but all clean and friendly. Absolutely great was the kitchen, the chef is an artist in his field and everything tasted very delicious. The food is recommended. Our dog Nacho was also welcome

Incompetent

We were at the Seehotel Hubertus in July 2026. Unfortunately, we had the experience of booking a room with a balcony and lake view for a lot of money and receiving a room with a terrace and a view of the parking lot. The worst part, however, was that I had forgotten my bikini on said terrace and the hotel is obviously still unable (a month later) to send it to me by mail. I even had to transfer €10 for the postage and yet it never arrived. Really sad that such an expensive hotel behaves this way. I would absolutely advise against it.

No respect for guests!!!

We have booked this hotel full of anticipation for a special birthday weekend – a deluxe room with balcony and direct lake view. That's exactly what the booking said. That's exactly what they paid for.
However, we got a room with terrace, view of a parking lot, an expressway and train traffic just behind the room. The “lake view”? Somewhere far away between cars and other guests looking out over the terrace from the parking lot.
Anyone who seriously sells something like this as a direct lake view either engages in deliberate deception or simply considers his guests naive.
But the real problem wasn’t even the room – but the way we were treated. Rarely do you experience such a cold, condescending and disrespectful way of dealing with paying guests. Our polite inquiry was met with no understanding, but merely an arrogant one: “This is the same category. Better look on the Internet.” No attempt to find a solution. No excuses. No trace of professionalism or hospitality. Instead, you felt like you were being punished for asking at all.
When we pointed out again that we had expressly booked a room with a balcony, the answer actually came, we should be happy because we “got a much larger terrace for the same money”.
This statement was hard to beat in brazenness. Trying to lecture guests about what to be pleased about, even though they have booked something completely different, is not only unprofessional, but disrespectful across the board. A balcony is no substitute for a terrace with parking space views and traffic noise – and certainly not an “upgrade” if the booked view is completely missing.
Particularly frightening was the obviousness with which obvious differences were talked up. A balcony is not a terrace substitute. A parking lot view with a noise backdrop is not a direct lake view. And selling guests for stupid doesn't make reality more credible.
The absolute low point, however, came right at check-in: Even before any attempt was made to resolve the situation with the room sensibly, we were advised that we had to remove our car the next morning because a closed company in the restaurant was more important than hotel guests. We were told without any inhibition that we could find a parking space somewhere else and were not allowed to come back until evening. For a hotel, it's a sign of poverty. Anyone who makes guests pay, but then treats them like disturbing extras, has obviously not understood the principle of hospitality.
So deep was our disappointment that we left after just 30 minutes – even though we had paid 100% for the stay because the hotel operators were of course just as accommodating to us when canceling as they were to all the other problems mentioned.
That actually says it all. We just wanted to leave because the complete mood was destroyed and we felt neither welcome nor respected. A lovingly planned birthday weekend turned into a single disappointment in no time. My wife was devastated because she had planned this weekend with a heart – and all that remained was frustration, bewilderment and the feeling of being absolutely unwanted as a guest.
Beautiful images on the Internet can hide a lot.
In this case, unfortunately, a service that is hard to beat in terms of arrogance, indifference, lack of respect and, above all, lack of professionalism.
Anyone who values honesty, appreciation and a minimum standard of manners should take a big bow around this hotel!!!

Price/quality ratio too high

Hello, We have booked a room from 27 to 28 December 2025. Beautiful view of the lake in the restaurant. We were assigned room 31 on the ground floor of the annex above the cellar. Despite the 2 radiators out of 3.5 we were awakened by high humidity in the room at 3 am. This does not seem very suitable for such a hotel. The washbasin in the bathroom had several cracks as a result of an impact. The flow of water from the sink and toilet was difficult, probably blocked. A dog is present in the brunch room and barks at each guest entrance. The bedding is of medium quality and the 2 pillows very soft. The sauna light is timed so we meet in the dark quickly. At this rate, I do not recommend this hotel which seems to save on too many points, despite a price of 181 euros per night.

Very pleasant hotel/restaurant in perfect surroundings - with direct rail connection

Had first stayed at this house in early December 2025 on the occasion of an event in the area, obviously (at least the restaurant)/the house has been run by new operators for a few months. Online booking quickly and easily, as well as reservation for the restaurant on the day of arrival.
The room in the annexe, with great 180 degree view of Schluchsee, equipment possibly not the very latest standard, but everything available I need, in the very best quality - up to the real wood parquet. Everything very well maintained and clean (silicone joints WITHOUT mold - rare!), absolutely nothing to complain about...
The restaurant "the pearl" of the house, window front on two sides, and great view from every table of Schluchsee - and in the warmer season large outdoor terrace in front. Local and international dishes and drinks, I enjoyed a large, tasty and wholesome dish, with matching wine - and there is Waldhaus beer on tap! Breakfast offers cold and hot drinks and dishes in a wide selection with good quality.
The owners/staff very friendly, accommodating and supportive, check out with payment finally fast and uncomplicated.
Overall, I felt at ease in this house, and will stay there again at the very next opportunity - but not just for one night!
