Simple hotel

We had checked in for one night and the place was fine. The room was simply furnished and had a small TV.
The darkening via an internal roller blind was limited. The bathroom was a bit small.
The breakfast buffet was good and extensive, including products from our own production.
Had it been warmer, we would probably have been sitting outside, so were put as if in a somewhat uncomfortable interior that has no visual connection to the outside.
All staff were very friendly and attentive. Value for money was ok.

Everything you need.

I was in the area on business and chose this hotel. Directly positively noticed the numerous parking spaces behind the house. I received a warm welcome and found a clean room. In the hotel restaurant I ate well and also the breakfast had everything you need to offer.

Excellent short stay

I spent a night here while on a tour of Germany, the rooms are basic but very sufficient and clean. the breakfast was excellent, and so was the dinner in the restaurant.
I would recommend it so anyone who is exploring the area.

Very dated lodging

If you'd like to experience time travel, be sure to visit Landhaus Schaaf. This dated "hotel" is stuck somewhere in the 80's. But the 80's have wifi. The hotel/restaurant is a mishmash of corridors, furniture, buildings in buildings, ancient rooms and one scary looking mannequin at the reception. In the double rooms you'll find two mattresses, one soft, one hard. Management couldn't choose. The soft mattress sucks. The vent in the bathroom makes an awful lot of noise. The rooms are all non-smoking, but I highly suspect guests regularly smoke (judging by the smell and all the stumps on the roofs below the windows). The hotel staff is friendly and the breakfast adequate. That however doesn't make up for the dated lodgings.

Great value for money, basic rooms, fantastic food

2 night stop on business trip, good Wi-Fi. Typical family run German Hotel. Rooms are basic but clean. Food was fantastic for both breakfast but especially main meals (try the steak). Location not ideal unless you have transport, would be bit of a walk into Runkel itself.
