Brilliant, and unfortunately due to travel I was an hour late for check-in… the wonderful lady at reception waited to check me in… great breakfast - really good, and the room was fab. Easy into town on the tram. Perfect.

Not recommended, not 4 stars

No 4 stars, 2 stars would still be too much.Hotel and rooms heavily worn ,renovation needs and dirty. I had a dirty mattress with hair from other guests, no mattress protector only topper. furniture heavily worn , mold and dirt in the bathroom.The whole hotel is partially temporarily repaired.
I would not recommend the hotel.
No parking, underground parking nearby 28.50- per day, Outside Cologne, daily room reservation and towel change only on request.Price/performance insufficient.

Night from hell

Room with dust on the wall lights, very detached and unkind staff, it was a stifling heat, there was a Chinese-made table fan in the room that worked poorly, above there was a split air conditioner installed but they did not turn it on saying it could not be used. We spent a night from hell in front of the little wind from the fan and the open window where hot air came in. Terrible quality of the structure.

Disappointing and completely inappropriate in terms of pricing.

Disappointing! The standard of this aging hotel absolutely does not correspond to 4 stars.
The rooms are outdated and poorly furnished; an air conditioning unit is obviously installed but not functional. The room keys from the day before yesterday are immediately identifiable in case of loss. The breakfast is okay, but consists entirely of discount products. The bathroom is a disaster! Mold in the shower; you would prefer not to use the toilet! The showerhead cannot be used hands-free. No air conditioning in the small breakfast room. €124, especially on a Sunday, is absolutely not appropriate!!!

Only light in the room was from desk lamp, floor lamp and bedside lamps. Even with all lamps on, the room was just dimly lit. No dresser for clothes, just a deep, dark cubby cabinet with 1 shelf. Easier to "live" out of our suitcases the 4 nts we were there than have to bend over, searching cabinet with a flashlight for clothes to wear. Breakfast was ok. No traditional German Brötchen. There were some small "voll korn" rolls which were nice, but otherwise just mini kaiser rolls and rolls COVERED in poppy seeds and sesame seeds. By end of breakfast each morning those were the only rolls left. Obviously not a popular item. Suggest they nix those overly seeded rolls for some traditional brötchen. Also no elevator to the ground floor, so had to carry suitcases up/down flight of stairs. Not handicap friendly. Overall rating would be a 3.8.
