Clean room with breakfast included

There wasn't much choice in the vicinity so we went with Schoene Aussicht.
The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. We arrived after 8pm and didn't realise she arranged an alternative way for us to get the keys and we called her. But she was more than happy to pop round to give us the keys and show us around.
The room was spacious and well ventilated, with a good fan for the hot days. The bed was comfortable. There was a big tv but we didn't have time to watch anything. The sink was quite small and the shower curtain kept clinging to me, and I'm not big by any means.
Breakfast was included in the price. There was an excellent selection of rolls, cold cuts, cheese, yoghurt, cereals and teas. We enjoyed it very much before we set off on another day's cycling.

Awful!

When we arrived there was no one on reception. The key had been left out for us and if some other guests hadn't told us where it was we wouldn't have found it.
The hotel itself smelled of dirt and dry rot. The bed in our room broke during the night and had nylon sheets. The bathroom was just acceptable, worn synthetic towels were not.
The breakfast was good, the overall experience was miserable and rather expensive.

Gemütliche Pension mit freundlichen Gastgebern

Man fühlt sich sofort zuhause in der Pension "Schöne Aussicht". Das Gebäude ist schon älter, wurde aber immer wieder renoviert und ausgebessert und hat aus meiner Sicht seinen Charme behalten (knarzende Holzdielen inklusive).
Die Gastgeberin und die Mitarbeiterin waren sehr freundlich, neben der Bewirtung gab es auch bereitwillig noch ein paar Restaurant- und Ausgehtipps. Es ist nicht ein wirkliches Hotel mit Rezeption und so weiter, mehr eine Pension. Die Zimmer sind zweckmässig eingerichtet und sauber. Falls die Gastgeber nicht da sind, hat es gleich neben der Tür eine Telefonnummer als Kontakt.
Das Frühstücksbuffet ist toll, die Lage wirklich absolut ruhig. Messe Karlsruhe ist in ca. 10 Min (Auto) oder 45 Min (zu Fuss) erreichbar.
Absolut empfehlenswert für alle, welche fernab vom grossen Rummel ein paar gemütliche Tage verbringen möchten, ich habe meinen Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Einmal und nie wieder

Wir trafen als Gäste einer Hochzeitsgesellschaft gut gelaut im dem "Hotel" ein und wurden recht unfreundlich begrüßt. Dieser erste Eindruck der schon durch das ungepflegte äußere des Gebäudes abzeichnete setzte sich dann auch gleich auf dem Gang nach oben fort. Unser Zimmer hatte eine mit "Teppichboden" beklebte Tür, im Raum eine ebenfalls mit Teppich beklebte Wand, alte abgeblätterte Fensterrahmen, Linoleumboden mit einem uralten und ungepflegten Fransenteppich,auf Putz verlegte Leitungen, keine Ablage im Bad, der Platz reicht maximal für Kleinwüchsige, der Balkon war in einem genauso fragwürdigem Zustand und dazu noch sehr schmutzig, die Handtücher rochen alt und muffig. Das Frühstück war einfach, kleines Problem die Speisen standen alle ungeküht,bei ca. 30° Aussenthemperatur auf dem Tisch), die Wirtin versprühte auch wieder ihren Charme, der Knaller war dann die Abrechnung und zeugt von einem hohen Grad an falscher Selbsteischätzung, denn ich betrachte 70€ für ein Doppelzimmer, sowie 49 € für das Einzelzimmer unseres Sohnes gelinde gesagt als bodenlose Frechheit, das ist Gastronomie wie sie keiner braucht. Dieses harsche Urteil erlauben wir uns , da wir alle in der Familie einen gastronomischen Hintergrund haben und wissen wie es auch mit einfachen Mitteln viel besser gehen kann.

sehr zu empfehlen

Super nette Gastgeberin und Mitarbeiter!! Absolut ruhige lage und trotzdem inerhalb 5 min an der Karlsruher Messe und in ca. 10 min in Karlsruhe
Das Frühstücksbuffet lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig!!Saubere große helle zimmer mit großem bad.Ich habe mich wie zuhause gefühlt!!!!
