Great hotel with so much history

My little son and I stayed a weekend in Papenburg for the Meyer shipyard visit, which was great. The nights from Friday to Sunday we had at the Altes Werft Hotel. Overall, we were very satisfied. The staff at the reception and restaurant are still quite young and super friendly!!! We felt very comfortable and the room was also generous for us and to our complete satisfaction.
Breakfast was very good. Nothing was really missing. Once we had dinner at the restaurant. The menu is clear with regional and seasonal dishes on offer. That, too, was excellent. With just over 80€ for 1 adult and 1 child from my point of view quite angry, but really good!
The restaurant manager did not make a good impression. It was also felt that the atmosphere of the restaurant staff was not good when he was on site.
Since the hotel was right on the square of the “old” Meyer shipyard, I asked if there was anyone who could say something about the history in this place or if there was something to read. Unfortunately, no. That would be another tip for the hotel...a guided tour of the whole area, what is left of that time e.g. the former Meyer family home, which stands next door or the old shipyard halls, which still stand there. This is history and should not be forgotten. We would have liked that to be offered.
Definitely would come back. Thanks for the great weekend

The reception staff was excellent.
The waitress at the dinner was not focused on the guests need. More on her tasks for preparing closing and next day.
The hotel has 4 chargers for electricity cars. None of them was used by customers???
The reason why is stupid - non customer friendly pricelevel.
11 kW capacity (slow) max 5 hours (can not load over night) and €9 per hour!!!! Total €45! Worst set up ever. Dinosaurs!
