An insult to Caesar

My wife and I had dinner at the restaurant - it was not to be recommended. I had a caesar salad that was increadible bad (how is it possible?) And my wifes fish tasted of winegar. The worst meal we had in a Long time

Mediocre apartment; convenient off the boardwalk

We stayed in one of the apartments in the 'Villa Strandblick' for our three day to trip to the town of Binz on Ruegen Island in the Baltic Sea. To say the least, I have definitely stayed in nicer places and would have preferred a hotel. The apartment certainly was not big; one of the bedrooms was average sized but the other was very tiny. It was supposed to sleep four, however, there was only one queen bed and one single bed, and that meant the sofa in the living room was probably a pull-out couch. It was extremely hard to set up and it took nearly 10 minutes to figure out how to pull it out, and still it was very small. Because of this, if the person that was sleeping on the couch was still asleep in the living room, you were not able to go into it and this for us really restricted our space in the morning. Fortunately, there were two bathrooms, but the bathroom which did not have a shower didn't have a toilet and the small powder room of course did not have a shower. The overall atmosphere of the apartment was not to my taste; it was the absolute opposite of modern and with the frilly curtains, old furniture and yellow walls, it certainly looked outdated and needs to be repaired. I wouldn't have enjoyed this apartment likely at all if it was in a terrible location, but it was in an extremely convenient location in Binz- just off the boardwalk (along the beach) and right near the main promenade with all the bakeries and shops. The walk to the beach itself is less than a minute, and restaurants can be found all around. Because of this, it really made our trip to Binz worthwhile and for us, it was the ideal location. Therefore, I would say that if you plan on spending time in your apartment in Binz, don't choose here, because you can very likely find something nicer. But if you plan to be out all day and only really have the apartment for sleeping, then this your ideal lodging, because the location is fantastic.
