It is a beautiful country house in a lovely rural area with a grand garden, small lake and horse barns and training area where we could watch the girls putting the horses through their dressage paces. The nearby fields of bright yellow canola were stunning to see.
The lady of the house was gracious as were all her staff. We also enjoyed dinner and a walk in nearby Eckernforde which has a pretty harbour and walking promenade on the sea.

We love the Entesuit!

It’s the second time we stayed for the weekend - we loved the tranquility, the surroundings, the staff is very friendly, good breakfast and a wonderful experience overall. We’ll definitely be back (next time in the Summer to enjoy the terrace).

Incredible beautiful place

Herrenhaus Borghorst has been beautifully restored and furnished with antiques and paintings. Staying there gives you a unique impression of how the squires lived at the end of the 19th century. The location is very quiet so the only sounds you hear when you take a walk in the park around the house are the birds singing. Breakfast is served around a big table in the Garden Room giving you an opportunity to talk with the other guests while enjoying the view into the garden. It was really interesting and relaxing to stay in this beautiful place.

A fairytale setting

The Herrenhaus Borghorst manor is like a small castle which is nestled in a landscape of trees, lakes and fields ... it looks like a painting! When you drive in, you feel as though you could be visiting royalty. On the inside, the owner has taken immense care to preserve the historic character as evidenced by the furniture, paintings and tapestries. The staff were so kind to show us 2 photo albums documenting how the owner saved this manor from ruin and restored it to its former glory. Definitely recommend to book the breakfast to have the opportunity to sit in the dining hall which is absolutely stunning! Highly recommend for an unforgettable experience.
