Very cozy, locally typical traditional house with great cuisine and very good service.

A well-established house with a long tradition. Renovated, cozy rooms and very good, traditional cuisine. The family-run hotel is located in a very idyllic spot directly by Lake Obing with its own bathing beach behind the hotel. The owners are very friendly, typical Bavarians, making you feel at home right away. The owner is always up for a chat during meals. The rooms offer everything you need, and the beds are very comfortable. We had a room with a lake view and balcony - we enjoyed being awakened by the birdsong - the church bells from the nearby parish church support this starting at 7:00 AM. We can highly recommend it and will definitely return, also because we really like the area around Lake Chiemsee - it feels like home to us.

Such a super cute and well-kept guesthouse! Felt like you were with family - hosts were so lovely. Rooms were perfect.

Excellent Landgasthof

The reception staff showed me where to safely store my bicycle overnight and I could then continue to my quiet charming room through the beautiful courtyard of this large property which is also used as a classical beer garden with beautiful large trees offering shade and good air. From the balcony of my room I could not only overlook the garden but also the beautiful church right next to he hotel. I went early for dinner which was good as the very good classical Bavarian hotel restaurant is not only catering for in-house hotel guests, but also village people and large bus groups so prior reservation is highly receommended - as I had no problem to be seated as a single person the staff did all they could to accommodate all people which meant also people being seated with other people on the large tables which nobody really mind as it created a very lively atmosphere in that place; and I could like this get to know a nice also cycling couple from Switzerland on my table. After the enjoying the vast breakfast buffet I continued cycling the next morning.

I chose the hotel due to the location being only 25km from where my business meeting was located. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and had great internet access. I checked in late (9pm) and left early, but enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was super and people all very nice.

A much bigger hotel than it looks from the front, it was very clean and comfortable with good facilities including ample parking and free wifi. Like all German hotels it lacks tea/coffee making facilities in the room so best to take a small travel kettle with you. Decor ranges from traditional Bavarian wood carving to more modern and a little quirky (such as the completed and mounted jigsaw puzzles on the walls of some corridors and stairwells) but is very well maintained. Breakfasts were excellent! Obing itself is a quiet little town which I chose as it's midway between Munich and Salzburg. It's also very handy for Chiemsee and a visit to the Herrenchiemsee palace on the island of Herreninsel. The hotel has it's own access to the small lake of Obingsee.
