We spent a week at the Village Hotel Bayerischer Wald (half board in a quiet cottage) and would love to come back! The hotel is super centrally located in the Bavarian Forest – with the Aktivcard we got effortlessly everywhere: Summer toboggan run, open-air museum, thermal baths, silver mine and more. Everything was easily accessible, even by electric car (charging facilities unfortunately not available directly at the hotel).
Rooms & facilities (4/6): Cleanliness top (5/6), all fresh and well maintained. The equipment is functional, but a little older – not a modern design, but cozy-rustic. In the bathroom lacked more hooks for wet towels (from sauna/swimming pool), the one rod was not even enough for two large; drying only possible improvised on the balcony. Balcony and close to nature with birdsong were wonderfully quiet though – our cottage was just for us all week!
Gastronomy & cleanliness (4.5/6): Half board with large buffet structure: Quality super delicious (two hot main courses, vegetarian option, hot dessert or ice cream daily). Highlights were the homemade jams for breakfast! Variety okay, drink menu solid but not exceptional. Cleanliness in the restaurant top, service lightning fast (plate gone in no time).
Personal & wellness (5/6): Insanely friendly and helpful everywhere – reception perfect at check in/out. Sauna area small but snug and relaxing (after a short training to the system). Swimming pool super refreshing.
Overall, a relaxing nature holiday in a beautiful location – more towel hooks and fresh furnishings would make it perfect. Thanks for the great stay!

The hotel is very quiet on the outskirts of Neukirchen. We had HP booked.
The meals are varied and leave nothing missing. The staff

The place was so clean. Big room, nice view in the balkon, peaceful and the cute little house was really cute. Staff are friendly. Breakfast was okay. And the location for the Family parks are great. Absolutely recommended

For family holidays quite good
Located in a really nice area. Those who like nature and the beautiful scenery there will also be delighted.
The facility itself is also very nicely laid out. The family rooms are also nicely sized and are quite cozy overall.
However, these are also quite old. Modernization is urgently needed.
There is a small kitchenette with fridge and 2-burner hob. However, without kitchen utensil .
The beds were much too soft for us. But everyone has their preferences.
In our holiday week there was only a cleaning and new towels. That has really been too little for us.
The complex also includes an indoor pool. Our child liked it. And going for a quick swim in the evening was also nice for the child.
Breakfast was adequate and the ladies there were also unlikely to be behind.
Due to the holiday season and heavy occupancy, breakfast was divided into 2 time slots.
Nevertheless, the breakfast room was incredibly crowded, restless and noisy. Some children ran wildly between the tables.
You were constantly toasted while eating.
Also I had the finger patches with food scraps on my jacket several times.
Unfortunately, the parents aren't very interested.
Also, it was not certain that you would get a table right away.
Although the staff took good care of it.

Accommodation Top Food Flop
We stayed in a family suite. It was very clean, bright and spacious. It is extremely quiet and you are close to nature. The bathroom had a bathtub. Unfortunately, the kitchen was equipped with a fridge and 2 hotplates but no cooking utensils in the kitchen. The WiFi, which is also listed as a service, was mainly good in the main building and in the sleeping areas at the front. In the rear living area it was usually not sufficient. During our vacation, however, everything was fully booked. Unfortunately, WiFi is essential because the cell phone reception in the hotel was really bad. For anyone who wants to get away from their cell phone, this is really great! We booked half board because it was easier with a child. Unfortunately, the kitchen there did not suit us. Of course, it was a buffet. The food never ran out. Coffee was available in the morning from a great self-service coffee machine. Neither in the morning nor in the evening, unfortunately, we were not convinced by the taste. Unfortunately, it was not very cheap to switch to half board. The indoor pool, which was included in the services, unfortunately only saw us for 15 minutes because it was extremely cold. According to reception, it should be 26 degrees. We wanted to go to a nearby swimming pool because of the guest card, which is extremely convenient!!!, but unfortunately we didn't have that idea because of the miserable weather. But since we didn't pay for entry, that was fine. The location of the accommodation is great. You can reach many excursion destinations in 10/15 minutes by car. All in all, we were satisfied, we would happily go back, just a little bit different ;)
