Great location and modern rooms, but a few important issues

We had a generally pleasant stay. The room was clean, modern and comfortable, with very comfy bedding and good-quality amenities. The minibar was also reasonably priced, with items costing just €2 each, which was a nice touch. The hotel is in a good location and was convenient for exploring the area.
There were, however, a few issues that impacted our stay. The fridge wasn’t cold enough, which resulted in some of our food spoiling and having to be thrown away. It would also have been helpful if umbrellas were available from reception, particularly given the weather.
Most concerning was the room safe, which became quite hot and was actually heating the items stored inside it. This was worrying given that a safe is normally used to store valuables and important belongings.
Overall, the hotel has a lot going for it, particularly the rooms, comfort and location, but these practical issues should be addressed to make the stay more reliable and comfortable.

The hotel is BEAUTIFUL. One of the oldest in Munich. Traditional and v refined in its decor. Pristine + elegant throughout (lobby, rooms, bathroom). Staff is beyond helpful + food @ the reataurant, superb.
Almost wept when told that the family owned for a zillion years place was recently sold + will close down in January for a 2 year renovation. So HURRY before it turns into a want to be cool and corporate friendly hotel like all the rest.

Negative sides: Breakfast is poor, hotel has bad access from one side, location is not good near train station

Disappointing at this price

€180 per night without breakfast and no air conditioning. When booking it seemed as if there was cooling present and in the room there is even a control button for this. However, according to the staff, this button does nothing at all.
We then asked for a room with air conditioning and were told that this cost €40 extra. After we agreed, another employee came to tell us that it would suddenly cost €65.
In addition, a lot of noise from the subway and very uncomfortable pillows. For this price we expected much more comfort and service.
