Family-run and central

Quiet guesthouse in a perfect location with a very good breakfast, a small but beautiful wellness area, and pretty rooms with a view of the mountains (upper floor recommended)! Very personally and family-run - we always enjoy coming back.

Not quite ready for prime time

This place is not as special as reviews had led me to believe. First, the positives: employees tried to be helpful, and the location provided easy access to the lively and picturesque part of town . I was struck, however, by the impression that this hotel is not really up to serving international guests.
First of all, I was surprised that none of their informational materials—not the reservation confirmation, not the town’s calendar of events, not the booklet describing the hotel’s amenities or the restaurant menu—were available in English. So, you were so largely on your own, trying to figure out what their guest options were.
I was also put off by the fact that throughout our multiday stay, there was a folding bed, a large cardboard box, and cleaning equipment out in the hallway, on full display. It was like they did not know or care that guests were in the house.
Perhaps, these standards are deemed acceptable by Germans, but our family ( which does not need fancy) were put off by them.

Liebe Familie, vielen Dank für Ihren Besuch und daß Sie sich Zeit genommen haben uns zu bewerten, wenn auch diese Bewertung nicht so ausgefallen ist, wie wir es uns gewünscht hätten. Schön wäre es gewesen, wenn sich auch Ihre Bewertung in die durchweg's guten eingereiht hätte, zumal wir erst vor zwei Wochen einen Award bei Tripdavisor gewinnen konnten und noch in " Feierstimmung " waren. Aber auch negative Bewertungen sind " wichtig ", da sie uns helfen mit einem wachen Blick durch unser Haus zu gehen und Kritik positiv umzusetzen. Und- uns war das schreckliche Bild im Housekeeping so nicht bewußt und wir entschuldigen uns für diesen unprofessionellen Anblick. Wir haben beim Schreiner nun saubere Ablagemöglichkeiten bestellt und arbeiten auch sonst daran. Nur muß man eines fairerweise sagen: die Dinge liegen " nur " während der Zimmerreinigung da, nicht's desto Trotz darf es so nicht ausschauen. Auch das Gästebett muß einen anderen Platz finden, wir brauchen es aber regelmäßig, wenn Gäste Aufbettungen spontan brauchen. Wir würden uns freuen, Sie beim nächsten Mal überzeugen zu dürfen.... A wonderful place to stay in Mittenwald

Just a perfect place to stay. Location was great. Quiet, clean. Staff very nice and accommodating. We loved being on the ground floor. Hiking to Lautersee was a treat!

Reasonable Stay!

We had mixed feelings about this hotel. It was a bit of a difficult check-in as the lady at the desk did not speak English, so we had to come back later (the lady that spoke English is only there at certain times). The bed was comfortable, although the shower and bathroom are a little snug. We had a balcony (room #121) which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, it was so hot in our room overnight with no cooling options available. Thankfully we were offered the fan from reception for the remainder of our stay. We would not have been able to sleep without it. We found breakfast a bit lacking and choices rather limited. It was a nice stay but not a great stay!

Small and messy

Garni small messy and confusing. Room with antique furnishings, uncomfortable bed. Very confusing breakfast buffet with tables on the stairs. Staff not at all friendly Cute sauna, small pool and with children making a mess

Sehr geehrte Frau Paola, ich habe wirklich überlegt, ob Sie unser Gast waren. Denn unordentlich ist es bei uns laut der Bewertungsstatistik über die Sauberkeit sicher nicht ( Sie gaben uns auch volle Punktzahl 1?!?!? ) Tische auf den Treppen auch nicht und Kellner beschäftigen wir keinen. Für Kinder im Schwimmbad sind die Eltern zuständig, uns sind da im Großen und Ganzen die Hände gebunden, weil Kritik über die Erziehung nicht gut ankommt. Manchmal würde man sich hier ein Bewertungsportal für Vermieter wünschen. Alles Gute Bärbel Ostler
