Would be good to have stronger AC when it’s 100 F -39 C out. Unfortunately the Hotel Pool costs 10 EUR extra. Great views and location near main train station

Beautiful hotel, marred by the rip-off for late check-out.
Pros: beautiful hotel, impressive lobby, friendly and quick check-in, the breakfast is plentiful, although it can get a bit loud in the large dining room. The rooms have a nice view over Leipzig and a pleasant room size. The shower with bathtub may not be up to date anymore. Sufficient space for clothing.
Cons: Entry to the pool costs €10, even for hotel guests and Marriott Bonvoy status customers. Somewhat strange.
Even as a Bonvoy Silver member, one does not receive a late check-out (contrary to the announcement on the Marriott homepage). Without prior notice, the late check-out is charged at €21 (for an additional 90 minutes) upon check-out. Room price €109 - late check-out €21. Roughly speaking, that is 20% of the room rate. I call that outrageous.
Every guest should consider whether frequently staying at Marriott hotels makes sense. The status is worthless; the value is marginal when not even a promised late check-out, which does not hurt the hotel on a Sunday afternoon, can be redeemed. There is not really a significant added value for the points at Marriott.
Perhaps Hyatt or Hilton offer better and more interesting alternatives. B & B offers a late check-out without batting an eye.

Hotel Westin Leipzig
The Westin Leipzig is one of the most distinctive hotels in the city, and I have visited it several times recently. The rooms on the upper floors offer an impressive view of the entire city and are modern and comfortably furnished. Although the hotel is no longer brand new, it has been renovated multiple times and presents itself in a well-maintained and contemporary condition. The breakfast in the restaurant on the ground floor is generous and diverse, leaving little to be desired. An absolute highlight is the FALCO Bar on the 27th floor. It offers panoramic views over Leipzig and an impressive selection of gin that is unmatched. Parking is available directly in front of the hotel. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Those who wish to stay comfortably and centrally in Leipzig will find this place very suitable. Clear recommendation.

Less than stellar experience
The Good: Conveniently located to the train station, public transportation and Old Town Leipzig. Coffee all day.
The Less Than Good: AC does not work appropriately, rooms are very hot. Beds are not comfortable. There is a pool but they charge you to use it.
Would not stay again.

Great view
Very large hotel with 27 floors. Unfortunately, there is no underground garage, but there is a paid parking lot (we paid €75 for 3 nights).
Our room was on the 26th floor. and had a great view. The room was very modernly furnished, but the bathroom still had the charm of the eighties. Unfortunately, there was no refrigerator in the room, but there was a kettle and a coffee maker.
The mattresses were comfortable, but the comforters were very heavy and filled with synthetic material, making them not so pleasant.
Using the pool costs an additional €10 per person per day. So for 3 nights with 2 people, that’s an extra €60. Inappropriate for hotel guests.
The breakfast is good. Dogs are warmly welcomed in the hotel :-).
