Great! Be sure to try

Very good, great hotel, service and unbeatable cuisine. I was there for a meeting of several days and will be back next year. A very clear recommendation. Everything is really right here. The location is excellent and right on the waterfront.

A dream hotel

I am absolutely convinced of this hotel. From friendliness to cleanliness and food, almost nowhere to be surpassed. Me and my wife are very satisfied and will gladly come back as early as possible. My wife Margarite hasn't even gotten in on our hotel view of the sea. Next time, the grandchildren will also come along, this will be a fantastic family holiday.
Sincerely, Peter.

Hard to beat in unkindness

As part of the theme weekend "Living Museum" my husband & I were in Laboe for 4 days. For our stay we chose the traditional hotel Admiral Scheer, which is affiliated with the Navy.Based on the information on the official website of the hotel our choice was reinforced. In advance we received a written confirmation voucher with the note that we can ask at the reception on site at 11:00 am if our room might already be ready for occupancy. On site arrived on Friday, April 5, 2024, we auditioned at the reception and introduced ourselves with our name. The lady behind the reception then gave us without comment a form, which we should fill out.On our question if the double room with terrace and beach chair was already available there was a short : No. Parking pass was handed out and we should ask again at 1 p.m. At 1 p.m., however, we were received not by the lady but by an elderly gentleman, where reception is still expressed kindly.Again, we introduced ourselves by name and the gentleman gave us a key. This room had been ready for some time.Grumpy he merely said: Room 24 is in the Guest house. He made a very annoyed impression. The room itself clean and tidy , only the beach chair, which was designated when booking the room on the website for the double room with terrace, was missing. We had chosen this double room deliberately because of the same terrace with beach chair. We immediately personally informed the man at the reception about the absence of the standing chair.Thereupon he harshly instructed us that this existed only in the summer and it is now no season for it.This accusation we wistfully rejected, because on the hotel's homepage this room category explicitly provides these services from March 29, 2024 (Season B), the claim only applies to Season A(1.22 - March 28, 2024).
For us this meant no use of the terrace, questions about other seating were rejected. If we had known in advance that a use of the terrace was not possible, especially since the weather forecast between 18 and 25° C would have invited, we would have opted for a different room category. The bad thing: the weather became nice and also a use of the hotel's terrace was also not possible due to a lack of seating. We had then written an email for general communication, in the hope that the lady from the morning could help us.We did not receive an answer to this until the day of departure.Today, the 08.04.2024 (Checkout) we then met the lady again and asked why she did not want to answer and help us.
And then the battle of words started. We were approached in an unusual manner for a hotel and titled with annoying, rude guests, which you don't need anyway and which you could do without. We would no longer need to ask for bookings here either, because she would have removed us from the booking system immediately. We should not show up here again. She would have around 700 overtime hours after all and would also have a right to days off and would not have to work on weekends. That is of course a great pity, because both the staff in the dining room and in the kitchen
were really very nice and polite ,the food very delicious. We would have liked to have used the bar pictured on the website with our naval cameras in the evening, but the entire time was blocked by the breakfast buffet. When we addressed this, we were quickly informed that this hotel had no bar, as there was also no cocktail, we must be mistaken. We are immensely disappointed by so much verbal audacity that was thrown at our head today by the employee.P.S.:Afterwards it turned out that said staff were also the operators personally. An apology from the managing director Mr. Maurer we have received & thank you for the polite communication.

Authentic naval hotel with splendid view of the Kiel Förde

"Join the Navy" could be the theme of this fine hotel next to the museum submarine of WW2, and the 56 meter high Naval Memory, with a splendid view from the top. The hotel rooms are very fine, with a naval line interior and a fine view of the "förde" and ships to and from Kiel Harbour. Many fine details and models ships. Even the beer taps are made from machine telegraphs!
We had an OK and average evening dinner and a very good breakfast buffet.
All-in-all a good visit.
