Cosy, inexpensive hotel in a quiet location with class wellness area.

Beautiful hotel in a very quiet district of Harzgerode. Great location and very inexpensive. The wellness department including sauna and large swimming pool is beautiful and very well maintained. The dinner was a bit clear, but the breakfast buffet was very commendable!

Very different from how it used to be (and from the photos)

If you came here years ago, and you wanted to come back and have the same experience, forget about it: the old and charming half-timbered building, with the big restaurant, it's long gone. It's "under renovation", but you don't see any renovation happening. The "newer" wing is open, with a temporary reception were the medical/spa used to be. We came back based on the website photos, that depict the hotel how it used to be, but the hotel is no longer anything like that. Everything is in disarray, looks like the property "gave up" and it's barely keeping some rooms open. Definitely over priced for what is offering.

Highly recommended

We booked this hotel from 21.02 - 23.02.2025. Already on arrival we were overwhelmed by the warmth at the reception. Our room was in the bathhouse, which had already been completely renovated. It was large, clean and tastefully decorated. Large closets for vieeeel clothes surprised. A dream for all women.
The breakfast buffet was very appetizing. If you wanted to eat a little something for dinner, you could order sausage and cheese plates and enjoy them in the spacious lounge. Ordering beer, cyclists, wine etc...no problem.
In the wellness area there were 3 saunas, with the 85° sauna constantly in operation. The steam sauna and aroma sauna were heated on request. Since we like to go to the steam sauna, this was our favorite. Sauna and bathing area were combined and still visually separated. A very nice ambience.
Things to do here don't necessarily have to be by car. With the narrow gauge railway, the S-Bahn or the bus you can also travel well here without a car. We chose the narrow gauge railway, which was also free of charge through the hotel.
All around it was a wonderful relaxed weekend. All wishes were fulfilled.
Many thanks again to the owners of the hotel, who were partly behind the counter themselves, because there was need on the man. We wish them every success in their further endeavours.
We definitely recommend this place.
We will come back.

Relaxation in the middle of the Harz Mountains for nature lovers

Quiet location with ample parking. The staff were friendly throughout. The rooms, the spa area and the house in general with nice ambience. A plus for the bathtub in the bathroom! The HP as a menu tasty and filling.
Value for money very good!
From the hotel you can hike a lot in short and further distances.

great hotel

Hello.
We stayed here in October 2024 for a short vacation. They're totally thrilled. Food super staff mega room modern and a very nice spa area. We would love to come back and look forward to it. Thanks for the nice time see you soon.
