a pleasant house, only recommended

The hotel is pleasant, the staff performance-oriented. You feel comfortable here. The food is excellent, especially the wine advice from the boss of the house very good The tapas are recommended. The house is quiet parking spaces adequately available from this hotel can be made very well trips to Dresden and other sights of the region.

Catastrophic service and unacceptable waiting time – A disappointing evening for 6 people

**Occasion:** Dinner for 6 people, **Tuesday** (reservation at 19:00)
We had reserved for six people and were extremely excited about our visit to the Hotel Spanish Court. Unfortunately, the evening turned into a complete catastrophe that I have never experienced in this form.
**1. Service and waiting time (Unacceptable)**
The guest room was only about 40% occupied, yet the service staff was only sporadically visible. It took a long time to even be able to place an order for drinks and main courses. After the drinks and the two pre-soups ordered were served, an unreasonable wait for the main courses began.
We waited **1 hour and 10 minutes** before actively asking for our food. We were assured that the food would come "within the next 5 minutes" – a statement that turned out to be false.
**2. Personnel and handling complaints (lack of professionalism)**
After another 30 minutes (total waiting time: about **1 hour 40 minutes**) I looked for the staff. I found the only waiter of the evening **sitting comfortably with the lady from reception in an office behind reception**.
There was **no apology** to my complaint and the question about the management (which was allegedly unavailable). Instead, the blame was placed on us by claiming that we had not arrived on time at 7:00 p.m. (although we were at the table a maximum of 5 minutes later). The reason for the blatant delay was simply "just one cook", although four other tables had already been served.
**3. Consistency and lack of management response**
When I announced that we were now leaving the restaurant, it was suddenly explained that the meal was ready in 4 minutes. Since the professionalism and respect for the guest was completely lacking at that time, we demanded the bill and only paid for the consumed drinks and pre-soups.
**Particularly disappointing:** We were guests on **Tuesday**. I deliberately waited two days and hoped that the management would contact me – as my phone number is known through the reservation – to defuse the situation. **This contact has not taken place to date (Thursday).** The lack of initiative to limit damage confirms the lack of interest in the guest.
**Conclusion:**
As a long-standing entrepreneur who has responsibility for over 100 employees, I can only say: The business model and dealing with guests in this house are absolutely deficient. The motto actually seemed to be: **"The only thing too much here is the guest."**
This was the first negative review I have ever written, but in this case it is imperative. Such a level of unprofessional service, lack of organization and lack of responsibility does not belong in the gastronomy. **Absolutely not recommended.**

Pure disappointment!

We had a voucher for the restaurant and redeemed it at the bodega on January 18. Everything went well, the drinks tasted good (only the freshmaker was a bit too sweet). I ordered a paella (for 24.50 €) and my wife a salad (9.90 €) with chicken breast (additional 6.90 €) and an enpanada filled with spinach, as well as a few olives for starters. We thought you'd forgotten the olives, but they came with the main courses on the table. The enpanada also tasted very good, but the salad could have been made at home in 5 minutes (some salad, cucumber and some cherry tomatoes) and in addition the chicken breast cubes were only briefly fried and had hardly any taste. In addition, the salad was served on a plate beaten up in several places (see photos). You can't do that! The anticipation of a delicious paella was unfortunately not fulfilled, because it was actually hardly edible. She looked chic at first, but the taste was underground. The rice was supposed to be granular and bite-resistant, but was a single "pump", almost like rice. Spices were also missing altogether. After this disappointment we didn't want to eat dessert anymore and wanted to pay. Our voucher was collected and then we were charged an invoice with only drinks left with a balance we had to pay. We could not trace at all whether all the food that was not on the bill corresponded to the value of the voucher. Actually, everything should be listed on an invoice, minus the voucher value and this then corresponds to the remaining payment amount. No requests were made in this regard. So we will not come to eat again!!!

Hotel too busy with groups at cost of guests

Starting with plus points, breakfast great and breakfast staff also great. Hotel looks good with Spanish design. Restaurant okay but expensive. Rooms with lots of wood, a bit old style. Airco (extra) cost 20 euro (!) and turned out to be a noisy mobile set. I stay in hotels dozens of times a year but this was a first. Biggest problem is the parties they have. Big part of hotel and outside seats blocked. Cars and people everywhere. First night I had a marriage under our windows, with disco and lightshow. Till 03.00. Bizar. After complaining in middle of night manager took us to other room. Hot and over the front terrace with noisy smokers from the party. Front desk is not occupied from early in evening. We were there a couple of days and shortly after there was a congress. Again blocking part of hotel. This hotel seems more busy with groups then the guests.

Sehr geehrter GinnegapLeusen,
