Homely hotel

This a very nice and homely hotel , solidly built as you would expect in Germany . Staff friendly . It would have been good to have used the restaurant for an evening meal , unfortunately it is closed on a Tuesday the day we stayed . Never mind as the breakfast was good and Goldbach is only 3 Kim's away.

Excellent, Excellent Restaurant

This is a traditional German Restaurant with meals from Bavaria. It is in the town of Goldbach/Unterafferbach and is deep in the valley. The food is outstanding and the menu is unbelievable. You are tempted to return everyday just to try each item. They have a very good selection of beverages (Beer, Wine, etc, etc) The restaurant is visited almost daily by the locals and is well known in the outer circle. Folks do come here on the weekends for the nice drive and have an excellent meal and then just taking a stroll within the town-bring your walking shoes! As I stated, it sits in the valley, so everything is up and down, up and down. Your mobile phones will not work while you are in the valley, then again; the area is very beautiful during the spring and summer seasons that you would not want to be disturb. There is a Bier Garden and there is a hotel as well, but I have not stayed in the hotel. I have been told it is an outstanding hotel to stay if you want to visit the main cities of Aschaffenburg or Wurzburg but want to stay in a small town/village atmosphere.

Gänsebrust fast ungenießbar

Eigentlich als gute Einkehrmöglichkeit bekannt, wurden wir stark enttäuscht. In der Gänsezeit liegt es nahe, dass man auch mal Gans bestellt. Als Hobbykoch stellt man natürlich an ein solches Haus dann auch gewisse Erwartungen was die Qualität betrifft. Leider wurden wir diesbezüglich total enttäuscht. Jeder von uns bekam eine halbe Brust mit 3 Knödeln und Rotkraut serviert, soweit so gut. Die Ernüchterung folgte auf dem Fuße, denn das Stück Fleisch war zäh wie Juchte, ohne Geschmack und total trocken. Wir schafften es beide nicht unseren Teller leer zu essen. Als anspruchsvoller Koch/Köchin sollte man wissen dass eine aufgewärmte Gänsebrust (das war sie zweifellos) die beim ersten Durchgang offensichtlich bei viel zu hoher Temperatur zum 2. mal starb und dabei schon totgegart wurde, ungenießbar wird. Unter diesen Umständen ist jetzt erst mal Pause mit diesem Lokal, schade.

Außergewöhnliches Restaurant!

Seit Jahrzehnten feiern wir unsere Festlichkeiten im Gasthaus Post in Unterafferbach. Das Essen und der Service sind jedes Mal herausragend. Nirgends bekommt man ein besseres Jägerschnitzel als hier.
Es werden ausschließlich frische Zutaten verwendet, der Service ist auch mit großen Gesellschaften keineswegs überfordert und bleibt stets freundlich.
Die Speisekarte hat eine mittelgroße Auswahl, ist immer nach Saison angepasst. Regelmäßig wird der Gast durch ein paar Highlights auf der Karte überrascht.
Hervorragende Qualität, einzigartig im Umkreis Aschaffenburg.

Alles bestens gerne wieder

familiäres Gasthaus mit Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten Zimmer idylische Lage schon älter aber sehr sauber super freundlich Personal leckeres Essen schöne Biergarten netter Wirt wir waren rundum zufrieden und kommen nächstes Jahr wieder
