In The center Town forest

Been on a weekend in that area. Nice hotel, good restaurant, all for a nice price, not talking about the beer.Friendly staff. The boss was happy to join us and ofer free beers. Will certainly return soon.

Outdated hotel with unfriendly Owner

After our stay I can say one thing - here we will certainly not come again! Advance - We are a group of eight, arrived by motorcycle, we booked by phone on 16.07.2024.
You don't even know where to start. As soon as you enter the hotel, a slightly musty smell flies up your nose. The employee though friendly, but quite short-bound. Well, it's not that bad.
The price for two nights including breakfast is fine, as it is on the official website and booking portals that you can use this hotel with all the advantages. There is talk of cosy rooms, a sauna and social evenings with billiards and darts.
It would be all well and good if this were also true. But I'll come back to that later.
Check-in was easy, payment was also immediate. Off to the room and then.. The entire upper floor is equipped with carpeting that is quite old and has stains everywhere. This could also explain the musty smell that runs throughout the house.
Rooms are large enough and there is a private bathroom with shower. If you enter the rooms, however, you feel set back 60 years. The decor is more than outdated, the mattresses hard and uncomfortable. You can hear every word or cough of the roommate. The bathrooms are old, the water from the shower cold to lukewarm. If you are lucky you even catch hot water, but this is not reliable. The rooms are clean at first glance, but one member of our group got stained, damp towels - which you don't like to use then. There is no safe in the room to store valuables, so you have to take them on your trips.
The condition of the hotel generally seems quite outdated and decrepit, such as holes in the ceiling. Photos are attached.
We wanted to do something in the evening and looked for the advertised activity room with billiards, darts and table football. We are almost all amateur darts, so we had our darts with us and were already looking forward to it. Was this one of the factors in deciding on this accommodation? When asked, we were told that this room did not exist. The sauna is also defective. Well, let's just go to the old town, we thought, but found out that all the restaurants as well as restaurants were full or close at 10 pm - kitchen at 9 pm. So you should definitely reserve a place in the restaurant well in advance. There is also no one left in the hotel from 10pm. On Friday evening, no one was even present at 9:45 p.m., and according to the owner's statement, the personnel costs were too high, which is why he had given his employee an early break. In the “Relax Room” there is a coffee machine and a dispenser for hot and cold water. But that was all. No possibility to get drinks otherwise and no contact person on site. Logically, no response to the night bell either. Still made us a nice evening by providing ourselves with drinks and playing cards (which lay in the “relax room”).
When we addressed the grievances the next day, we were referred to the boss. He then wanted to appear in the evening for a personal conversation, but we were not given a time. The interview did not take place. There was also no telephone availability.
When we then made our way home again, the Owner contacted us by phone. He showed no sympathy for our friendly reference to the abuses and misinformation on his website. According to him, in principle there would be the possibility to use Things to do such as darts and billiards, but we would have been denied access because two weeks ago a group of motorcyclists damaged the pool table, which he did not feel like doing. Likewise the sauna, which apparently is functional, but not usable due to a swimming pool renovation.
There is a building with renovated, modernized rooms, but apparently you have to mention this explicitly when Booking Referral.
Apparently we should have asked if we were getting modernized rooms and if the possibilities of leisure were there. However, we have logically assumed that everything can be found as stated on the official website. How are we supposed to know that the rooms are obviously differentiated?
In addition, we would have violated the house rules by getting drinks and playing cards from outside. But the employee only asked us to turn down the music and not a word about it breaking the house rules. The Owner probably watched us through attached cameras. However, he did not have an answer to the question of where else we can get drinks. In general, the phone call was unsatisfactory, the Owner very unfriendly and not a bit discerning, instead we were blamed. We could have chosen another hotel, had it only taken because it was so cheap. We agreed that 90€/night/person including breakfast is not particularly cheap.
We had at least hoped for an accommodation, instead we paid the full price, although we only received 50% performance because the rest was not usable!
Definitely not a Recommendation, especially for motorcyclists - they are obviously not welcome here!

Awful service, unfilled food orders and cold food

Our small tour group made the mistake of eating dinner at their restaurant last night. We arrived around 6:30 pm and didn’t leave until 10 pm- 3.5 hours of poor service, unfilled food orders, and cold pizza. I never received my order and the poor waitress (who spoke no English) seemed overwhelmed. When we asked to see the Manager, we were told he wasn’t there that night. We called him but no answer. The worst night of an otherwise wonderful visit to Germany.

Good value and very friendly place to stay

Quite basic and a bit dated but still good value. All the staff were very friendly. Rooms and bathrooms a bit small, however were clean and the beds were comfy. 6 of us on a Bike trip turned up on a wet day and the owners were happy to get our wet weather gear dryed in the boiler room. The food was from a small buffet, but was all hot and tasty. The hotel is a little hard to find but its worth making the effort. We paid 66 euros per night for twin rooms inc breakfast and an evening meal (33 per person) One of the best value hotels I have stayed.

Schlechtes Hotel in guter Lage

Very good location
