Perfect hotel, location right by the central station, clean and stylish, bed is comfy. What more could one ask for!

The Moxy is very close to the centre which makes life easy in terms of food and travel. The hotel itself could do with some updating and a big disappointment was them not providing a kettle and tea cups ! Literally absolutely nothing wanted a cup of tea late in the night no way of getting hot water/ ice. I think it would be nice to have a kettle at least and a complimentary bottle of water! The room needs painting. The iron room idea is good but nowhere to refill the water for the steamer, if your room is miles away good luck! Linens don’t get changed very often was there from Wed-Sun wasn’t changed once. Cleaning the bathroom took the lady 3 mins. If you aren’t looking for somewhere fancy and not expecting much then it’s ok. Staff were friendly. Lifts worked.

Glitzy visit

A handsome no nonsense hotel in the centre of Essen with friendly staff
Smaller functional room, no cupboards and / or coffee maker ... coffee you can just get in the bar, also a good shower.
Decent breakfast present which was very nice.
You can easily order something to eat if you feel like it, certainly not overpriced.
There is a very nice gym available.
Nice is that you really stay within walking distance of the nice (shopping) streets, restaurants / bars, sights and station, very nice base.
Definitely recommended if you are looking for a nice hotel in Essen.

It was OK, but the smell of the bathroom was terrible and I couldn't sleep because of that strong smell. They didn't change the sheet every day.

Clean! Very nice room again (stayed earlier in 2023). Perfect size. Maybe a small bathroom, but good for 2 days. Enjoyed the lobby/restaurant with board games, nice bar, good breakfast!
