Location Hotel Service Staff Super Top
We had a suite and it was absolute world class. (Guests toilet, bathroom with shower and bathroom with tub)! But once again, the staff is the poster child of such a hotel. Super, super friendly, competent and very, very, nice.
Food, bar, wellness all at its finest!!! We will come back.... You're sure. A monster big thumbs up!! for the location, the hotel and the very, very super great staff!! We were there with our dog, and even for him there were only nice and dear words!!! Madness from all of us a top recommendation, and a top address for holidays with sea views!!!

Special needs patrons should consider alternatives
The Strand Perle has been our first hotel in Germany. It's very elegant, and we've stayed in nice hotels throughout our travels. However, the handling of our service dog, a dachshund, has been quite different here when compared to other countries' venues.
No hotel in our travels has had us pay extra for a service dog. At the Strand Perle, dog owners pay dependent on the dog's size. Okay, fine. Your hotel.
For breakfast, hotel customers sit in a bright wintergarten facing the seawall and are waited on by several staff members and a cook. For service dog owners, they must sit, isolated, four rooms back, by the elevator, and serve themselves from that distance.
My husband, an 81 year old veteran, had to wait for me with our dog while I made six trips to the buffet to get him his breakfast. Then I started with my own. I didn't know the cook would have prepared for me eggs cooked to specification. I didn't even know how to get coffee. When my husband went in to ask about coffee, we were brought out an elegant coffee service. When we needed more coffee, my husband had to go back through four rooms to ask.
In summary, we were ignored completely. Note that Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral allowed us in during mass, ahead of others on line, so my husband could sit down. The same for Musee d'Orsay. We experienced literally no resistance to having a service dog in any venue throughout our travels. Our dog wears a vest, has service dog tags attached, sits quietly under a table, with my husband able to provide any other necessary paperwork.
We are in a nice suite for four days. Upon entering, I found one of the sinks clogged, no doubt with human hair. My wired haired dachshund hardly sheds.
To the hotel management, if you're going to isolate us, at least make the effort to acknowledge our existence. That happens only when prompted to do so.
To possible future patron seniors with needs, yes, you need a hotel with an elevator, and, yes, perhaps you're immuno suppressed, as I am. You should be able to find another hotel that doesn't make you feel segregated, as we were, counting down the days until you've checked out.
I would like to acknowledge Herr Huette's professionalism when checking in. He did provide helpful information and made himself available. Kudos.

Excellent overnight stay as "guests of the house"
The breakfast and dinner were extremely rich and varied, the quality of the food offered was outstanding, so no wishes were left unfulfilled. Even smoked eel was served for the fish buffet on Friday.
The owner himself went from table to table during meals and asked for the satisfaction of the guests. You really felt like a guest of the house in the beach pearl, unlike an ordinary hotel night. We would definitely come back!
