Very pleasent place to stay
I was here as participant in an educational course.
It was a very pleasent place to stay! The accomodation is new, clean and comfortable. The grounds of the monastery have a long history (church dates back to the 10th century) and you can really feal it! It seems to be a small village on its own. Yet outside the walls, you also find the small village of Drubeck.
The monatery grounds also holds a small cafe with wine and beer. Very nice. Do try the hasselnut-honey liquor - it is delicious!
The only thing keeping me from giving this place 5 stars, is the food. The food was particularly booring and without any nuances througout the week. We could also see the same buffet leftovers being re-used in other dishes a few days in a row.
Defintely a fine place to go. Well situated for hiking in the hills and forrests or for courses and workshops. Specially the latter, as they also have a terrific conference "center" with a few rooms and a large garden for networking.
Everything seem newly renovated and pristine. Aparently they won an architectural award in 2008 for their way of preserving the original old monastery buildings, while building the new modern rooms within them.

Konferenz im toller Atmosphäre
Wir haben hier eine Konferenz ausgerichtet mit etwa 50 Teilnehmern im Adelbrin-Saal. Das Personal ist sehr nett, die ganze Anlage sehr atmospärisch. Zimmer sauber, Duschen OK und Kissen gut. Englischkenntnisse gering bis moderat, aber wir hatten genügend Teilnehmer, die übersetzen konnten. Essen mit gutem Buffet, bei dem jeder fündig wurde.

Tolle Unterkunft zum Erholen und Abschalten!
Die Anlage des Klosters ist traumhaft schön. Ein wunderschöner Kräutergarten lädt zum Verweilen ein und das Zimmer war super. Der große Speisesaal ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber das Angebot für alle Mahlzeiten sehr gut.

Wohlverdiente Auszeit
Ein wunderschönes ehemaliges BenediktinerKloster, gelegen zwischen Wernigerode und Ilsenburg im Vorharzland, bietet dieser Ort Zeit für Stille und zur Ruhe Kommen. Zugleich ein guter Ausgangsort für Wanderungen in den Harz /Brocken, Plesseburg, Steinerne Renne/ oder einfach entlang des Klosterwanderweges. Das Personal von einer für die Region außergewöhnlichen herzlichen Freundlichkeit und sehr flexibel. Mein Zimmer in der kleinen Scheune schlicht und sauber, störend für mich nur der Fernseher. Das Frühstück super...alles was das Herz begehrt und zudem aus biologischem Anbau...selbst bereitetes Müsli, frischer Obstsalat, leckerer Kuchen und wohlschmeckendes Brot...Käse und Aufschnitt...Säfte und Tee und super Kaffee.......geistliche Angebote dürfen, müssen aber nicht wahrgenommen werden. Ich komme bestimmt wieder......Lieben Dank an alle Mitarbeiter.

Romantisches Wochenende
Wir hatten einen Gutschein für ein romantisches Wochenende geschenkt bekommen. Die Terminsuche gestaltete sich nicht einfach, da das Kloster gut ausgebucht ist. Vorlauf von zwei Monaten hilft. Es ist eine Seminarstätte. Das Angebot an Doppelzimmern mit Doppelbett ist überschaubar. Bitte bedenken, dass ist ein Ort der Ruhe und Einkehr. Kein Fernsehen. Kein Fön auf dem Zimmer, kann aber vor Ort geliehen werden. Sonntags kein Abendessen, da Küche geschlossen. Wir haben das vorab bezahlte Geld erstattet bekommen und sind dann Essen gegangen. Umgebung traumhaft. Empfehlenswert das Kloster Café und die Weinstube. Neben Kuchen auch Snacks erhältlich. Café am Wochenende von 12.00 bis 17.30 Uhr. Weinstube ab 19.30 Uhr. Sonntagabend nicht. Personal sehr freundlich. Frühstück und Abendessen Buffet. Auf persönliche Wünsche wird gerne eingegangen, wenn diese rechtzeitig angemeldet werden. Laktose freie Milch ist Standard. Im Gutschein waren ein Rosenstrauß und eine Flasche Sekt auf dem Zimmer enthalten. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
