Really nice hotel with a great location. Supermarket across the road has a great cafe for coffee and cake. Restaurants and fast food options within a few minutes walk. Hotel very clean and nice bar.

Room was nice enough, and clean. Pool was very dirty. Good breakfast selection, easy parking. Good for a one night stay.

Good package, but aging hotel and uneven service.
We stayed 2 nights at the Mercure Köln West as part of a Weekendesk package including the hotel, breakfasts, a day at Phantasialand, and a welcome drink.
The welcome is pleasant and the first impression is quite good, with a neat entrance and an appreciable scented atmosphere. The sauna is also a real plus, especially for those who like very hot saunas.
On the other hand, the rest of the hotel convinced us much less. The establishment is aging, the pool is small and dated, and the areas around the sauna like the locker rooms and showers clearly deserve a renovation. In the room, several details hindered our stay: beds not made upon our arrival, lack of soap, tissues almost empty, and a general impression of fairly average finishing.
We also appreciated the pleasant surprise of the parking being included without it being mentioned, which represents a significant saving and improves the overall experience a little.
In the end, the stay remains decent thanks to the package and a few good points, but the hotel did not seem to us to be at the level of a true 4-star hotel.

The bathroom door could not be locked, the pillows were very flat and the bad quite hard. The staff were very nice. The breakfast was decent.

Great breakfast.
We were very enthusiastic.
The rooms were standard, but clean. There is also a small refrigerator.
The breakfast was great—everything was fresh and there was a wonderful selection. A special service is the water station (with sparkling water) in the lobby for self-service available around the clock.
Our children were also very pleased with the swimming pool. Good water temperature.
It takes about 45 minutes to get to downtown by public transportation (single ticket €4/adult).
To Gertrudenhof (less than 10 minutes), Phantasialand is about 30 minutes away.
