Unkompliziertes schönes altes Gästehaus neu renoviert

Wir haben hier eine Nacht gewohnt und es war wunderbar. Das Gästehaus Konzept hat mich total überzeugt, es gibt keine Rezeption, keinen Admin Aufwand, keine Wartezeiten. Man kommt einfach, macht die Tür auf und ist da.
Es fühlt sich null touristisch an, man wohnt zwischen den anderen alten hübschen Häusern wie privat. Die Zimmer sind super schön renoviert.

Prices like the big ones but no service

We were on the 1st. Advent weekend 2025 in Peterlhaus. When we wanted to take over the rooms at 4pm, no room was cleaned and no contact was available. The entire house was without heating and upstairs there was no electricity. Other guests had other ways of contacting us. So the rooms were prepared after 6 pm. Towels were missing altogether. It's a shame! We were already here 2 times before and very satisfied at the time. A request by email has not been answered to date. Rating = insufficient. Not recommended!

Unfortunately not well maintained and very clairvoyant

We stayed there two nights. The location is great, as is everyone on the island. The room was only superficially cleaned. The sink (tiny, hardly any space for brushing teeth) was glued to the outside. The kettle calcified, the stirrer sticks of the previous tenants put away and so on... For this we had requested a double room and received a twin room. Some of the fellow guests have spread out permanently in the community kitchen (sorry, that would be too cramped now, there is no room) and occupied the table as well as the balcony. So unfortunately not usable for us. Too bad, definitely not reasonable for the price.

Sehr schlechte Erfahrung/ Bad Experience

I advise strongly to be extremely careful when dealing with this hotel. I had a really bad experience with their complete lack of communication coupled with extreme greediness. I had preordered a double room for one night for the Chiemsee Marathon, which was cancelled 24 hours later. I immediately cancelled my reservation and asked very politely for a refund, as the room was barely registered as "booked" on booking.com and there was still enough time to rent it otherwise for the hotel. After several attempts to reach them I only got an unfriendly response that I should check this with booking.com and if they agreed they would refund me. I got in contact with booking.com and they did agree to cancel the reservation. I thought this would be ok now and I could get my money (or at least part of it), but since then the hotel is not answering mails and calls, which I find extremely unprofessional and rude. Of course they have not refunded me.
The prices are much too high for what they offer (you can see on the pictures that the rooms are pretty bare) and there are so many better alternatives around the Chiemsee which are much nicer and friendlier. I talked to the tourist office of the Chiemsee and they were also appalled, apparently there have been similar stories with this hotel in the past.
So traveller, beware – this is not a friendly place!

Das Preis/Leistungs Verhältnis stimmt leider nicht

Wir waren für 2 Tage auf der Fraueninsel. Hier haben wir im Peterlhaus in einem kleinen, ordentlichen Zimmer mit sehr kleinem Bad übernachtet, Die Sitzgelegenheit waren zwei (unbequeme ) abgesägte Baumstämme ( bei älteren Personen unmöglich). Da das Wetter schön war, waren wir nur zum Schlafen und Duschen hier. Leider ist der Preis für die Unterkunft (selbst mit Inselzuschlag) sehr überhöht. Frühstück auch noch extra....
