Loved everything -- EXCEPT the muted lighting in the room. It looks very nice, but I needed good, strong light during my stay and there was no way to get it in the room.

Does not meet the expectations of a 4-star hotel.

We spent two nights at the hotel. The reason for booking was the architecture of the building from 1930, the good location at the theater square with historical core (to explore the city from there), and the proximity to the main train station. The rooms were spacious, but faced a central thoroughfare and were therefore noisy from 5:00 AM onwards (with the window open). There was a terrace overlooking the theater square where one could relax, eat, and drink. The service staff was nice, although some gentlemen sometimes seemed a bit overwhelmed. Somewhat disappointing was the breakfast buffet for this hotel category. There was a selection, but the quality was mediocre. For us, the MotelOne is still the winner in terms of price/performance. The double room price of €125/night including breakfast was also comparatively inexpensive.

I don’t think it’s quite a 4-star hotel. More like 3 star. Need extra money to go to fitness center.

Almost still GDR

The reception was incredibly uncustomer-oriented. For the time before my lunch at the hotel, the time of lunch, and maybe another hour after that, I was denied my suitcase at the reception. Just on the grounds that I'm not an overnight guest. That kind of behavior hasn't happened to me before. I don't want to be unfair and say that the entrance area of the hotel still makes a very good impression.

Everything is right here!

We were on a test trip for a group in 2026 at Chemnitzer Hof. The house more than lives up to its 4 stars! Very rarely have I found such a friendly staff during my many trips. The rooms are large and tastefully decorated. The windows are fine insulated. The bathroom is very large. Everything is super clean, including the hallways or elevators. Breakfast is in line with the category of the hotel. A small negative was the check-in: Permanent parkers with C plates blocked the parking bay for unloading luggage. Despite circling the block 4 times, no space was available. From the car park, a long staircase and a long corridor under the theatre square had to be overcome with the luggage. Parking fees are very moderate.
