Small but oho!
The hotel is an obviously family-run, small hotel . Room and bathroom as well as the breakfast room are quite small, but everything you need is there.
The breakfast was also really delicious and as rich as it was sustainable.
Also noteworthy are the exceptional friendliness of the owner and the location of the hotel. You can walk to the castle or the Rizzi houses for about 10 minutes or take the tram, which almost stops in front of the hotel. And then you are right in the quite nice old town of Braunschweig or in the business center / pedestrian zone.
Art lovers are also highly recommended to take a look at the Galerie Jaeschke at Schuhstraße 42!

Clean, no-frills, family-run hotel within walking distance of the city center. Close to the main station, with bus and tram stops just around the corner. Very quiet despite its great access to public transportation.
A few parking spots behind the house, with a public parking garage across the street. Safe neighborhood to walk around in at night. Shopping center with a large grocery store also within walking distance.
The front desk is not always staffed, but if you communicate with the hotel in advance, they will deposit your room key in a code-secured safety box at the main door for self-check-in. Community kitchen with fridge and microwave, accessible 24/7, which was helpful when I needed a fork for some food that I had brought.
The hotels.com website says “1-inch TV”, but it’s a little bit bigger than that. :)

"Good value for the money"
I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in September 2015. I was in Braunschweig for business. The hotel is 10 min walk away from the city center. I stayed in a room on the 4th floor that was accessible by stairs and an elevator. The room was furnished old fashionably but it was clean and spacious. The bathroom was rather small but also very clean. Breakfast was served in a small dining room on the first floor. They served a variety of cheeses, cold meats, bread, hard boiled eggs, butter and jam, yogurt, muesli, coffee, tea and juices.
Hotel offers free Wi-Fi for the guests, although the signal was sometimes rather poor as I stayed on the 4th floor. The reception desk closes at 10 pm, but late check-in is possible with prior announcement.
The lady who works at the front desk (and is possibly the owner of the establishment) was very polite and friendly. All in all, a surprisingly good hotel and a great value for the money.

Very nice experience
It was the last stop on our summer tour around Europe and we truly enjoyed our stay in this homely hotel. Hotel an der Stadthalle in Braunschweig is located just 5 minutes walk distance from the city center. Our room at the last floor was small but clean and quite comfortable and a bathroom was certainly sufficient. The staff was extremely friendly; the lady at the reception desk re-parked her own car to make a place for our car in the parking lot behind the building! Wi-fi was free and efficient. Breakfast was really good with a broad choice of bread, cold meats and cheese, and the orange juice tasted as freshly squeezed. The only drawback of the hotel is the location of the elevator in the staircase between floor levels what forces hotel guests to carry suitcases half storey up or down.
