Great location near a number of bus routes and a five minute walk to the U-bahn. Although in some ways the building is showing its age, it's perfectly fine and I had a quiet room with a super comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was good with amazingly friendly staff topping it up. I'd stay again.

The staff here is absolutely fantastic. So helpful and very knowledgeable. There are a lot restaurants in the area and very easy to get transportation. The room has AC and breakfast if needed. There’s also a bar in the lobby :)
Cons: though there is AC it’s dated just like the rooms. The area is a little rundown as well. A little updating would do wonders for this hotel but worth the stay.

The hotel is nice but the building has not aged well. The elevators are tiny, one had a cracked mirror dropped in plastic sheet. The shower curtain still had long hair stuck to it when I arrived, so the staff changed me to another room. The new room's bathroom's tiles had dried brown shower gel solidified on it. I flagged it, but it had not been scratched off by the time I left, too bad.
The breakfast was great, and the staff was nice.

AC didn't work. Room was filthy and extremely small. Receptionists didn't even say hi when we walked in. The card machines at the bar didn't work and they couldn't put the tab on the room so the bar was practically closed.
Only good thing was the location, close to shopping and restaurants/bars.
Would not recommend this place.

The room was very dusty and clearly hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in a while. On arrival, I was told the room would be cleaned every second day - I was there for 6 nights. Whilst towels were changed, bin emptied and the bed made every second day, the room was not cleaned. The dust that was there on arrival was there throughout.
I also had an issue with the bath drain being blocked and I asked for this to be fixed twice. I ended up going to a local store to buy some drain cleaner/unblocker myself.
I was surprised to see the room has no kettle, tea or coffee - a pretty basic hotel service. There was also no bottle of water on arrival.
Every time I left the hotel and returned, my key wouldn’t work because it had been near my mobile phone. It’s 2026 - this is a problem that should not exist.
I have visited Berlin many times over the years and always try and stay in the same hotel, which wasn’t available on this occasion, so I booked the Sylter Hof. I had actually stayed in the Sylter Hof once many years ago - I think around 9/10 years ago - and I don’t recall it being this tired and tatty.
The staff were pleasant, friendly and the hotel lobby area is welcoming, clean and pleasant. The rooms are extremely tired and the housekeeping service really needs to be improved.
