We arrived for a one night stay in transit to Frankfurt airort
The best ice cream we have ever had. The food is delicious and inexpensive, a family of four, we ate and drank for less than 100 Euro. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and clean,I would recommend anyone who is travelling in the area to stay here, you will not regret it!

Beautiful, pleasant, but with a very bitter aftertaste
I had an appointment at Miltenberg with a friend and loved how beautiful the buildings, and landscape are. We decided to stay a day longer to enjoy the scenery a bit more. We ended up choosing this hotel because of the online scores and positive reviews.
We liked how the hotel looked and we got the impression it was a family run hotel. This was due to the oldfashioned decor which got restored pretty well, but that was only at the main building where the reception area is. Some other buildings nearby looked a bit oldfashioned as well, but they didn't look maintained as well as the main building.
It took some time to get our rooms settled, because there was only one person available who could speak English and help us with our reservation which we pre-booked. That was the head cook, who didn't had the time to help us. We got helped by a kind elderly man who didn't speak the language well, so it was a bit difficult to follow the instructions where our room was exactly. It was located at another building which took 2-3 minutes walking outside.
We had a fairly good impression after entering our room, since it was quite spacious. The decor looked good and simple. There was a small tv, and a lot of closets where we could store or hang our clothes in. I thought it was unfortunate that there was no mini fridge, or airconditioning, since it was pretty warm that day. They also didn't have any shampoo either, only body soap. We also noticed that the ventilation in the bathroom wasn't working properly. The roster weren't opening after being turned on, so we had to keep the door opened, so that we could remove the clammy scent after showering.
We also noticed that some people would smoke outside of our windows. This was due to the room being situated infront of a smoking area, where people usually go for a smoke. The smell would enter the room pretty quickly, since the window opening goes in-wards. We couldn't close it either because of the bathroom, but we didn't mind it too much.
A disturbing fact is that one of our beds were located beneath a few roof windows which didn't have any blinds. We thought it was cool to have some light shining through which would help lighting up the room more easily, but we got shocked that the people above us could open their windows and look down at the person sleeping in that bed. We didn't know this until we saw the hands of someone above us opening the window in the morning. They could basically look at the person sleeping if they stuck their head out of the window and looked down. We do hope that it didn't happen, since we only stayed for one day.
Our stay had breakfast included in the pricing, which didn't seem to be an option we could decline. It made the price for the night more expensive than the average hotel prices. There were a lot of foodoptions available which was acceptable, but the only downside is that everything, apart from the tea and coffee, were served cold. We only ate a few slices of bread and i contemplated to get a bowl of cornflakes or yoghurt, but i decided not to because of our lack of time. I do wish there were some warm food available, like eggs or sausages. I personally thought the breakfast didn't meet the standard which is worth the amount you'd have to pay for, but i guess it wasn't bad.
We enjoyed our stay nontheless and left the hotel with a pleasant experience. It took us around 50km which was around 1 hour driving on a small zigzag two way road till we reached the main highway. It was stressful to drive on that road, because of how much space you get for two cars . I had to brake and measure the distance everytime i had to pass by a car.
It was also sad to mention that i was stupid enough to forget my wallet at the hotel... i called the hotel multiple times and hoped that they found the wallet. I was told that they couldn't find it, but advised me to come down and look for it myself. I told them around what time i'd be arriving, and got their approval to come, but i end up getting welcomed by an angry head chef. The reason he got angry was apparently me calling so many times beforehands, which affected his time to cook. You can also tell when someone's very angry if they are explaining things while making these certain handgestures like they do in Italy.
I asked if it was oké to talk with a certain employee who mightve seen my wallet. I got rejected: because he already talked with everyone about it. I then asked if it was oke to go back to our rooms and search for it myself. Another rejection, because other peoples are now using the room. We decided to walk back and hope that my wallet was lying somewhere on the ground.
TLDR; I'm afraid if i had a chance, then i wouldn't come back to this hotel in the future. Not because of my stupidity, but because the quality of the accomodation weren't exactly up to my expected standard and price. I guess the lacking customer service would be the biggest reason.

Friendly hotel
We stayed here as a group while on a cycling tour, our room was in a nearby building a short walk at the other end of the garden. Nice rooms, very German and although our room over looked the main road all was quiet in the village. They have a small room to secure bikes, it is a good size but there must of been over 20 bikes in there when we went to get ours in the morning which meant digging ours out. Breakfast was served at the table because of Covid 19 but everything was nice and fresh.

Friendly Family run Hotel/Guesthouse in a stunning location
We stayed here in April of 2017 while visiting the area. We arrived quite late due to traffic hold ups, but got a very warm and friendly welcome. We were shown to our room which was in a separate building from the Restaurant, just a short stroll through a nice garden. Our room was on the first floor and was very spacious and clean. The beds were very large and comfortable.
The buffet style Continental Breakfast was served in the restaurant between 8:00am and 10:00am and consisted of a good selection of local breads and bread rolls, cured meats, cheeses, Cereals, homemade preserves, yogurts and fresh fruit. The staff were very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the area and local events.
The hotel is right in the centre of the small village with plenty of restaurants and pubs to choose from for dinner. We had dinner at the hotel on the second night and the food was lovely and good value for money.
If you are looking for a real treat, try one of the "Haecker Wirtshaften" in the village. These are pop-up pubs in the premises of local wine producers where they serve their own selection of wines and spirits together with homemade local food specialities. These usually open at around lunchtime and stay open until late. You need to get there early though (before 4:00pm) as these places are very popular with the locals.
Overall we were very happy with the hotel and would be more than happy to return there.

Excellent hospitality, and unique bowling!
I spent a very enjoyable leisure morning here, hosted by the friendly and charming family. (including dog!) A tour through this area had arranged a sample of German bowling here. The restaurant of Centgraf includes several bowling lanes. I have bowled 5-pin, 10-pin, candlestick bowling, but this was the first I'd heard or seen of 9-pin bowling! Father and son hosts were excellent and friendly, served food and drink during a break, and even joined our game so we could make even teams.
We did not stay at this hotel, but I recommend a visit if you are passing near. The village also has a beautiful chapel with many painted murals.
