Quiet and fine hotel for day trips in the area

For a quiet base for the beautiful surroundings, this hotel is the ideal option. The hotel is rurally located on the outskirts of Altlay and has ample parking. It is only a few kilometres drive to the town of Cochem to visit the local castle and even closer is the famous Geierlay suspension bridge. A drive to Koblenz or to the Vulkaneifel park was a bit further but excellent to do in a day.
The room was very spacious and sufficiently clean. From the balcony the view of the hills is soothing. At the time of my stay the restaurant was closed due to the holidays around New Year's Eve. On the landing was a microwave to heat up any food you brought. It was not crowded but slightly noisy in the presence of guests. The beds are excellent and the bathroom spacious and equipped with all the necessities. The staff are friendly and greet you warmly on arrival. The check-out was also smooth.

For a short stopover ok.

Zi.to the back totally stingy, no curtains closed although everywhere was to read that it is very warm and sunny.
panes dirty and black mold on the glass seals both balcony door seals !
Window not even inclined for orderly ventilation.
Floor was not cleaned let alone properly vacuumed !:-(
Impression, just scurry through ,the next please :-(
always scary motorcycle noise from the parking lot in front of the restaurant !
Beds / mattresses incredibly hard and there is absolutely no lying comfort.
Bath and shower so far clean and ok.
View with open window very nice.
Breakfast 12 Euro/P. a bit excessive.
They gave up on it and went to breakfast.

Never again!

Get away from the parking and shuttle service. Since several times overbooked, long Waiting time at the airport, wasted lifetime. The peak was then that the driver was constantly on the phone without hands-free device with her mobile phone in her hand and controlled the fully occupied bus with one arm. Clear violation of the Highway Code, which belongs to Ryanair prevented, which was a contractor.
