Never again

We thought we would find a good and easy address nearby to visit several times during our holiday, but that was disappointing. We were kindly received, but we immediately noticed the smell of smoke and the unpleasant interior. It was cold there too. The food was reasonable, but my partner's meal was nothing to look at, sauerkraut dregs under a braised piece of venison, with gray knödel, for which we paid €23.90... For dessert a piece of microwave-warmed apple strudel with a dollop of sour whipped cream and a scoop of ice cream. Not recommended!

Pleasant hotel

This is a pleasant no-nonsense family hotel. Because of dietary requirements we made use of the kitchenette, which was great, apart from the fact that there was no light in this kitchenette. The hotel provided a super breakfast. Additional perk was, that the hotel is right on the ski slopes.

Terrible hotel with dirty rooms and misleading extra costs by checkout!

We stayed with our family and friend for 5 days in this hotel. We payed per room 130 and 170 euros for one night, so not a cheap choice. If you want to use the water cooker (to prepare a baby bottle) extra charge of 25 euro! Staff is very unfriendly, the owner is rude and there is no hospitality. They complained that our children where noisy at 8.15 am because they walked. Breakfast starts at 8.30 am, and you are supposed to be quiet with your little kids till that time. Room are very dirty, old and there is lot of moist in the bathroom. You need to ask for toilet paper. Beds are not fresh and old. This was an expensive and disappointing vacantion.

Very unfriendly staff, lots of hidden costs (without prior notice or communication)

Room and location were OK. No WIFI in our room (very slow outside of our room)Breakfast is less than expected. Foto's and costs on the website are misleading. The receptionist treated us without any respect and did not offer the service you would expect. Very unfriendly staff, lots of hidden costs (without prior notice or communication).

Good hotel, but a bit noisy.

The hotel is quite pleasant, clean and well appointed. No luxury, however.
Very positive: the food is excellent! A pity the kitchen does not share the pleasant smells.
Somewhat negative: the hotel is rather noisy.
The location is alright, on the road from Winterberg. It is possible to start your walk on the Kahler Asten area right at the hotel. Staff were very friendly.
