Paradise

This is such a special place. This isn't the Four Seasons, but that's not what we were looking for. The bungalows were cute and comfortable. The snorkeling was amazing. The beach was perfect and there are plenty of shady spots to relax for the day. The food was very good homestyle French/Polynesian meals. Jimmy and Marie Francoise took great care of us. I use a wheelchair and the resort is definitely not "accessible" but it was perfect for me, especially with their help. You can't see the main island from the beach, but all you need to do is go for a swim, or a kayak and there it is. We stayed 5 days and would have loved to stay longer. We are already dreaming of returning. We went during COVID and it was just us, Jimmy and Mari Francoise, and everything is open to the outside, so it felt very safe. Bring insect repellant and put it on during the boat ride to the resort, there are definitely mosquitos. With the mosquito nets, we were protected at night and the breeze kept them minimal on the beach, so they did not interfere with enjoying our stay.

Total scam

Beautiful location I discovered while snorkeling but sadly a total scam. I knew it was 'rustic' (bugs, no AC, etc), but that was exactly the peace and quiet we were looking for! I booked and paid for a room for two nights, the hotel emailed to say there was no availability but never cancelled the reservation. Not only was it stressful not knowing if I had a place ro stay, but also Blue Heaven took the money for a hotel stay that never happened. (There are no water taxis, so there is no way to get there without their help/pickup). No refund, no apology, no communication whatsoever. I have been trying to reach them ever since but have never had any further contact. There are so many beautiful, affordable, family-run hotels on Bora Bora. Stay away from this one, don't let this place ruin your holiday.

nice, special experience

We have spent 4 lovely days in this resort. really had nice family time with lots of snorkeling, canoeing, playing with kids, relaxing. jimmy and cathy have prepared excellent lunches and dinners, from steak, grilled fish, to tahitian crudités bowls ! we spent nice quality time with them, monique, the owner, and other guest family. kids had fun with cats & 2 dogs. indeed, the huts need some lift-up as old & basic, but hopefully this will be taken care of soon. we liked the resort anyway. greetings to all on the island !

Exactly what we needed

Plenty of reviews have described the resort and yes its "rustic", "quaint" but so laid back in a wonderful location with staff who are very accommodating and do what they can to make the stay as good as possible. Marie, Jimmie and of course Ellie all do the cooking and good home cooking it is. Spent several evenings hanging over the counter talking and drinking as they prepared the meal. Everyone eating together at one table breaks the ice too. Nothing wrong with a mosquito net - they work but we did bring our own mosquito spray and coils (been in similar places before) and no problems with errant flying insects. The best snorkelling on the doorstep where other commercial snorkelling operations bring their tours. 5 minutes from the airport if Jimmie puts his foot down so no difficulty connecting to the main shuttle. Only suggestion would be a small fridge in the unit. Thanks Jimmie, Marie and Ellie we'd like to come back.

Blue Heaven Island/ Bora Bora

The most unique place to stay on Bora Bora. It’s like having your own private island in paradise. The coral gardens are natural and you can see a array of colorful fish. You don’t even need to snorkel to see them as they come right up to the dock. We visited in November of 2018, and we had a wonderful time.
We enjoyed eating dinner every night and the Shabbat dinner was an extra special experience.
The bungalows are comfortable and clean.
If you are looking for a unique experience, this is the place for you. The color of the water here is the most beautiful on the island.
You get picked up in a boat from the airport, which is a fun way to ride in.
Eli is entertaining. He and Jimmy will see to it your every need is met. They are both exceptionally talented cooks.
Eli will help you plan excursions. I highly recommend swimming with the sharks and stingrays.
At Blue Heaven Island, there were paddle boards, kayak boats, snorkeling gear, and many other complimentary entertainment such as beer pong using rum bottles.
Polynesian art abounds as well as art created by visitors. It is really a fantastic place.
My husband and I loved our time in Bora Bora and we recommended Blue Heaven Island.
