It is a nice resort, we were at a bungalow over water, all of it was clean, fancy and beautiful. I would point that the prices for food at the resort restaurants are absurd, they take advantage on how insulated the property is to charge absurd prizes for food and drinks, not only but also for services like in the spa or the transfer service to the airport (which you basically have no option). I would also point that the views from the beaches are all partially stopped by bungalows over water.

Over water bungalow was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was great (smash burger, Polynesian Salad, and Chinese restaurants all top notch). Highly recommend getting a couples massage at the spa too.

Conrad Bora Bora Nui disappointing.

Unfortunately we had major issues during our stay.
Let me start with construction - it was disclosed so I give the hotel credit for that. What is not disclosed is the extent and noise of the construction. It’s intolerable. All day long. Jack hammers, power saws, hammering, and a crane! I would not have stayed here if I understood the construction situation. I worked in construction and don’t mind a little noise, but this was really bad. Before you book here, I suggest you check on this situation and get an honest take on what’s happening.
Next: Be very careful riding the bikes. Most barely have brakes and I actually fell off because I couldn’t stop! Seriously, I have a bike at home and enjoy riding. This is just simply dangerous and the bikes are very poorly maintained.
Next - just to get to the hotel, we paid $90 per person each way for a boat ride to the hotel! Ridiculous. For a 5 star resort, this seems outrageous. I would think it would be included in the price, but that’s just me.
Next - I had a yummy aperol spritz that was $60! It feels like such gouge. The food is mediocre at best. There is a cool Polynesian show, but it’s not available to hotel guests. It’s only for those who are paying. So we have no idea what a Polynesian show is like after visiting Bora Bora. A shame! We didn’t want to go to the show because it included a buffet dinner and we didn’t like the type of food served.
This hotel checks the mini bar every day to see if you have taken a soda. To me, this is so petty. A coke in the mini bar should be complimentary at a 5 star resort when you are staying on an island without any choices. It’s just sodas!
Checking the mini bar is common for hotels, but not at this level and price. This resort is so pretty but it doesn’t feel special at all. We came to a 5 star resort in Bora Bora and were so bummed. The last thing I will mention is the beds. Ours was so soft, I woke up with back aches. The rooms are gorgeous, however. If you don’t mind housekeeping coming at 4:30 pm. They do a great job, once they get there.
Having said all of that, I talked to the day manager about these issues and was offered one free night at any Hilton and lunch. I
declined the one free
night and chose to alert others as to what’s going on here. Such a shame. I think there are much better alternatives. Two of the five restaurants that are touted by the hotel are Japanese and Chinese. The French Restaurant, as advertised, is closed and under construction. The menu has been moved to a restaurant that is on the sand and very casual. Oh - my husband wanted to check on the golf simulator. It looked nice but you need a reservation and once again, at an extra charge. Otherwise the place was
locked.
I made a mistake and I hope you don’t also.

Dear Teresa,
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback following your stay with us.
We are truly sorry to learn that your experience did not live up to the expectations you had for your time in Bora Bora. While our ongoing renovation program is communicated prior to arrival, we fully understand that the actual level of construction activity you experienced had a much greater impact on your stay than anticipated. We sincerely apologize for the disruption this caused.
We are particularly concerned by your comments regarding the bicycles. Guest safety is of the utmost importance to us, and your feedback has been shared with our team so that the bicycles and our maintenance procedures can be thoroughly reviewed.
We also regret that several other aspects of your experience — including our dining options, pricing, housekeeping timing, minibar offering, and recreational activities — contributed to your disappointment. While some services and experiences are offered at an additional charge, we understand that, taken together, these elements left you feeling that the overall experience did not represent the level of value and hospitality you expected from our resort.
We appreciate that you took the time to discuss your concerns with our management team during your stay, and we are sorry that the resolution offered at the time did not meet your expectations.
Your comments are valuable to us, particularly as we continue our renovation and work toward delivering an enhanced resort experience. We sincerely hope that, despite your disappointment, you were able to take away some wonderful memories of the beauty of Bora Bora and our island.
Warm regards,
The Management Team

Beautiful Bora Bora, but the Dining Experience Was Marred by Mosquitoes

We recently stayed at Conrad Bora Bora Nui and had a mixed experience. There is no question that the resort itself is stunning. The overwater villas are beautiful, the lagoon is breathtaking, and the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. The natural beauty of Bora Bora truly lives up to its reputation.
Unfortunately, one issue significantly impacted our vacation: **the mosquito problem**.
We booked a package that included breakfast and dinner every day. However, during our stay, the resort's French restaurant was closed for renovation, so dinner was served exclusively at **Tamure Grill**. Likewise, the breakfast buffet was only available at the Grill.
The Grill is an open-air restaurant located next to the pool, which unfortunately turned out to be the area with the worst mosquito problem on the property. Every meal became uncomfortable because we were constantly swatting mosquitoes while trying to eat. My children ended up with their legs covered in mosquito bites, despite using insect repellent. After a few days, they became reluctant to go to the restaurant at all and even joked that they didn't want to go there just to "feed the mosquitoes breakfast."
For a luxury resort at this price point, I expected much better mosquito management, particularly around the main dining area where guests spend a significant amount of time. Better pest control, fans, mosquito traps, or relocating dining during renovations would have greatly improved the experience.
Overall, Conrad Bora Bora Nui remains one of the most beautiful resorts we've visited, and the service was excellent. However, the severe mosquito issue—especially at the Grill during the restaurant renovation—unfortunately overshadowed what could have been a perfect family vacation.

Hotel was not ready to reopen

While the staff are wonderful and working incredibly hard despite the current constraints—and we genuinely appreciated our room upgrade—the hotel simply wasn't ready to reopen. The ongoing construction is so extensive that you cannot escape the sight, smell, or sound of it anywhere on the property. We stayed in a villa that was further from the work than most other rooms, but we still suffered from construction noise most days.

Dear Taegyo L,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.
We are pleased to hear that you appreciated the warm service from our team and your room upgrade. However, we are truly sorry that the ongoing renovation works impacted your stay and prevented you from fully enjoying the peaceful experience you expected in Bora Bora.
We understand your disappointment and sincerely regret the inconvenience caused by the noise and visible construction. While these improvements are an important part of enhancing the resort experience, we recognize that they should not overshadow our guests’ stay.
Thank you again for recognizing the dedication of our team despite these circumstances. We truly hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with the experience Conrad Bora Bora Nui is known for.
Warm regards,
Conrad Bora Bora Nui Management Team
