Treat Yourself to a Stay at this Gem

In my 40+ years of staying at hotels in Paris I have never had a better experience than my recent stay at Le Général Hôtel. In particular, the staff at this hotel is one of the friendliest and most attentive I have ever dealt with anywhere in the world. I booked a top floor room with a small balcony, and because the weather was perfect during my stay, having the outdoor space was a treat. While my room wasn't huge, it was flooded with sunlight during the day, quiet at night, and impeccably clean. The breakfast buffet offered a myriad of options - all delicious - with a highlight being a machine that squeezed oranges for the freshest tasting glass of orange juice imaginable. The hotel is located very close to Republique at the northern edge of the Marais, and so it is within an easy walk to numerous outstanding shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as a number of museums and outdoor markets.
I really enjoy trying new hotels in Paris in order to get to know different neighborhoods, but it will be difficult for me not to return to Le Général Hôtel. And a special thank you to front desk staff Nesta and Florian for helping me pull off a fun surprise for my friends!

Great small hotel nothing is a hassle

We chose this hotel through an EasyJet package..We were not disappointed..Luiz checked us in and offered and gave us some very good info of local places etc to eat..So please ask for any info..I had also previously asked if I could get a happy 60th banner in the room and it was no problem at all..Ever so helpful..Yes other reviews have said the rooms are small..I upgraded to a wee balcony room so got to sit outside for a bit when returning as it was very warm..Rooms are small(not in them for long tho) Bathroom was good and the toiletries smelled amazing..Cleaning of the room was top notch as were the public areas too..It’s situated between 2 metro stations if you are not a walker!! It was a half hour walk or just a bit less to Notre Dame and not much further to St Chappelle and the Louvre etc..Weather was great so didn’t mind the walking..Can’t comment on hotel food as we were room only but have to say it did smell delish when we were going out in the morning..You get bottles of water in your room which was a nice touch..And here’s a wee tip..We put our cans of juice and water on the balcony over night which kept them cool for the morning And during our stay it was my other half’s 60th birthday and wow the hotel did NOT disappoint..A wee message on the lift mirror and a display in the room which I did not expect..I only expected the banner..Thank you again to the hotel for arranging this, making it a bit more special for him..If returning to Paris I will certainly be rebooking here again..

Great location and stay at Le General Hotel Paris

The staff at this hotel are friendly, helpful and very accommodating. I booked the family suite and a twin room, but on arrival we were given a double. It was no problem, the hotel were able to swap the rooms the next day. The location is great for metro links and a variety of restaurants, fast food and cafes and only a 10 min journey to/from Eurostar terminal. I recommend a little bakery a 2 minute walk away 'Samie' for fresh croissants etc (closed on Wednesdays). I would definitely return to this hotel if staying in Paris again.

Excellent value in the 11th

Hotel is clean and comfortable, has a lot of unique charm to it. Good location near metro on a quiet street. Provides breakfast for an extra charge that isn't fancy but has plenty of options and more than sufficient. Luiz at the front desk is friendly and helpful and always moving to keep the guests attended do. Very nice place for the price.
