Restaurant visit after long trip

Great food, friendly staff. We didn't stay at the hotel but we enjoyed diner. If you are on a roadtrip looking for a nice quiet place to enjoy decent French cuisine you won't be disappointed. Perfect stop on the route de soleil!

Horror hotel

We booked this when booking because of good reviews. We really don't understand these reviews after our visit.
This property is actually not even worth a star.
Room smelled like dirty air freshener upon entering.
Bed was slept we saw from the pit and hair in the bed.
The other bed had blood stains on it.
Floor was sticky and dirty.
50 mosquitoes in the room and 100 mosquitoes beaten to death on the wall. Spiders everywhere.
Bathroom was very dirty. Blood on the shower curtain.
A perfect location if you want to sleep in a horror hotel. But next time we're driving fast with screeching tires.

Bankrupt - non existent, just takes money for reservations.

Property is bankrupt and no longer there. Doesn't pick up phone and just takes the money for reservations. Caused us an extra 5 hours of driving with little children. Remove this property from the site, it is non-existent. Owner is a scammer.

Favorite stopover hotel / motel.

Our favorite stopover. So, we visited again in the month of October (this time on our way home). The strong points of this hotel are the nice quit location along the Saône river, the motel like possibility to park your car almost in front of your room, and the fact that it combines with Restaurant au Berges de Saône (one bill for dinner + hotel + breakfast). I wrote a separate review for the restaurant.
Our route planner had some difficulty indicating how to get there with our car. Now I know there are (at least) two possibilities: one is to drive over a wide bicycle path, the other is to drive along the Saône river. The hotel room includes a mezzanine with a full-size double bed – in that sense well suited for (a family of) 4 persons. The hotel had no WiFi. No problem as there was free WiFi in the restaurant.

Great find

I contacted this hotel 4 days prior to our arrival and booked a room. Since we didn't know the exact time of arrival, we were told that the keys would be in room #8 and we could talk to management in the evening or the next morning. I actually thought this was very convenient and everything worked out fine. Their website indicates the address you should program in your GPS, otherwise you'll have a hard time finding it ( which also was true)The room was spacious, clean and heaters worked great (since it was chilly and pouring rain). Our evening meal at their restaurant was delicious (snails and frog legs). The 8 euro breakfast was a disappointment but I will still keep this place in mind for future trips.
