We will return.
The apartment rental matches the description in every way, the staff is very welcoming, the shops are very nice, and there is a breathtaking view from the apartment. While there is no air conditioning, we knew that from the start; it gets very hot during a heatwave but is bearable under normal conditions in the center of the village, which is very appreciated. Municipal parking nearby is available for a daily rate of €11.50, which is very reasonable.

Avoid in winter non-insulated and dangerous windows
We had booked double room n°3, courtyard side, for a stay in the middle of winter when the temperatures were negative.
In the end, we decided to rent elsewhere, mainly because of the insulation of the window and the perceived danger of it.
These are wooden windows, with bayonet closure and simple glazing, consistent with the character of an 18th century building. However, there is no more mastic around the tiles, which move, and when we opened the window we found that the shutters no longer closed properly, seeming almost ready to fall.
It was at this moment that we realized that the putty was absent both inside and outside and that around the windows, in the room, the air was clearly entering. The tiles were wet... on the inside, and given the position of the radiator under the window, we were even worried about frost forming inside.
When we opened the closet, we found no additional duvet and the bed had only a simple blanket, which seemed insufficient given the weather conditions.
Honestly, we had two options: find another accommodation solution or return (2h30 drive). We finally left the establishment and managed to find a room elsewhere.
We were reimbursed about 70%, the deposit having been kept, and we appreciated this commercial gesture.
This does not, however, call into question the many comments on the various sites regarding the location, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff (but not understanding of us).
However, in our opinion, this very old building should be avoided in winter until insulation and security works have been carried out.

Based on the client's head!
A place that could be a reference in terms of a nice spot!
We go there from time to time, and the more it goes, the worse it gets!
This morning, a small coffee/croissant!!!
But surprise, no more croissants, nor pastries, nor bread (at 10 AM)
We just resign ourselves to a coffee.
Two tables away, two people sit down who order after us.
Complete breakfast with coffee/bread/croissant.
Clearly, they had better luck!
Slow and unfriendly service!
We will not return there again..

Very pleasant stay
My husband and I loved this lovely little hotel. The staff is lovely and attentive. Hearty breakfast. We will return with pleasure during our next stay on Ile de Ré. Chantal and Daniel

The splendid shop underneath the accommodation led us to believe it would be equally high end. Not so, I'm afraid. An underwhelming stay.
